乌鸦口渴得要命，飞到一只大水罐旁，水罐里没有很多水，他想尽了办法，仍喝不到。于是，他就使出全身力气去推，想把罐推倒，倒出水来，而大水罐却推也推不动。这时，乌鸦想起了他曾经使用的办法，用口叼着石子投到水罐里，随着石子的增多，罐里的水也就逐渐地升高了。最后，乌鸦高兴地喝到了水，解了口渴。
这故事说明：智慧往往胜过力气。

两个平常非常要好的朋友一道上路。途中，突然遇到一头大熊，其中的一个立即闪电般地抢先爬上了树，躲了起来，而另一个眼见逃生无望，便灵机一动马上躺倒在地上，紧紧地屏住呼吸，假装了。据说，熊从来不吃人。熊走到他跟前，用鼻子在他脸上嗅了嗅，转身就走了。躲在树上的人下来后，问熊在他耳边说了些什么。那人委婉地回答说：“熊告诉我，今后千万注意，别和那些不能共患难的朋友一起同行。”
这故事说明，不能共患难的人不是真正的朋友。
