那怎么才防范于未然呢？第一、小孩子独自在家时，不应玩火。如：点打火机，燃烧火柴等，都有可能引发火灾，所以我们一人在家时，不要玩任何有关火的东西；第二、在公共场所，要爱护消防栓等防火设施，以防万一着火时之需要；第三、当使用煤气灶等需要火的器具时，为了防止起火，应在旁边等候，万万不可离开。只要做到以上三点，那着火的概率将会大大下降，我们的生命也会有所保障。
但万一着火了，该如何应对呢？那我再给大家支几招：招数一、当发生火灾时，如果发现火势并不大，且尚未对人造成很大威胁时，当周围有足够的消防器材，如灭火器、消防栓等，应奋力将小火控制、扑灭；千万不要惊慌失措，置小火于不顾而酿成大灾。招数二、当火势无法控制时，应及时拨打119，并争分夺秒地离开火灾现场；招数三、在烈火浓烟中避难逃生要把湿被子披在身上，并用水弄湿毛巾，捂住口鼻，匍匐向出口前进。
说到火警电话119啊，真是无人不知，无人不晓，这里还有一个故事呢。
我国过去的火警电话是“09”，因为在70年代以前，我国特别通号是“0”号。70年代后期，我国通讯服务号码由“0”改为“11”根据标准化管理要求，火警电话号码统一定为“119”，是汉语里“要要救”的谐音。也因为每年11月9日是我国消防节，因此119具有两种不同的意义。
“隐患险于明火，防范胜于救灾，责任重于泰山。”不错，就像江爷爷说的，只要每人做到“人人关心消防，处处注意防火”的群防群治的局面，这样，火灾会少得多，我们的未来也会更加美好！
