书的第一章：遵循孩子的发展规律，从以下几方面来谈：
1、没有差生，只有差异，这是教师的通病，把那些学习差，纪律差违反校规校纪的学生视为差生，其实只是他们个性存在差异罢了。
2、因材施教，投其所好。
3、师教之道，男女有别。
4、找到最佳的学习方式。
5、等一等，是金子总要发光的。
第二章：兴趣是最好的老师， 在学中玩，在玩中学，维护孩子的好奇，让作业不再成为苦差事。

通读全文后，受益匪浅，一个教师教学水平的'高低、教学质量的好坏，由什么来衡量？成绩仍然是最重要的指标，是必须得到重视的。素质教育并不是不要分数、不要，更不是不要成绩。所以，千方百计教出成绩是教师们孜孜以求的目标。好成绩不会从天而降，这需要教师在教学的过程中要遵循孩子自身的发展规律，要如何做到这一点呢？书中介绍了十大技巧，分别是：从学生的实际出发；调动学生学习的兴趣；有想法更要有办法；授之以鱼，更要授之以渔；让学生自主学习；焕发课堂生命活力；开发孩子自身的宝藏；构建和谐的师生关系；好成绩是“激”出来的，用信任催生信心；磨刀不误砍柴工。其中，从实际出发的这一点中，应注意几个原则，“没有差生，只有差异”，每个学生都有长项也有弱项，“不能让猪唱歌，让兔子游泳”，只有避己之短，扬己之长，才能让每个学生都有成功的机会。“施教之道，男女有别”“等一等，金子总是会发光的”，要给学生一个交流的机会，给学生一些思考的空间和时间，给学生一个展示的舞台，给学生一个反思的过程。
总之，孩子在会爬的时候，我们不能要求他马上会跑。拔苗助长，违背学生的成长规律，结果只会适得其反。要善于培养孩子的学习兴趣，要尽力开发他们的自身潜力。“磨刀不误砍柴工”，教师要认真备好每一堂课，在“吃透”教材的基础上，合理取舍。当然还要找到更多符合实际的教学方法，充分利用各种有利资源。教出好成绩需要努力，更需要技巧等等充实的内容。这本书没有一些“假”“大”“空”的苍白说教，也没有动辄以“某某理论”自诩，而是用大量鲜活的案例说理，让我读起来更有兴趣，在阅读中思考，在思考中比较，在比较中发现，在发现中领悟，在领悟中成长。
除了以上这些好方法以外，书中还强调了老师对学生的爱也是一个重要的因素。教师要具备“奉献之心”“理解之心”“平等之心”“责任之心”，使教育行为充满了“真诚的人道主义情怀”，能够在教育学生时“向学生学习”，实践“请尊重学生的选举权”，追求“成为学生最知心的朋友”“回答学生最关心的问题”，要做到“乐于请教”“勇于思考”“广于阅读”“善于积累”。
读完这本书，让我收获良多，对日后的教学方式方法上也有一定的指导，并促使我不断的学习和完善自己，在教育这条道路上越走越远。
