Dear all,
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude to my parents for teaching me to be positive and to be strong. “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” is the opinion held by Aristotle. It is the experience of our forefathers, however, it is correct even today, including my parenting.
It is widely acknowledged that parenting, which can also be explained as family education, is of great significance in our character forming and manner acquiring. To be more detailed, setting good examples instead of just giving precepts is the greatest achievement of my parents. They not only taught me to think for the best and prepare for the worst; they taught me how. They not only told me the benefits of being strong in mind; they proved it. All those things require huge amount of time and work, but it’s worth it.
Without my parents’ contribution and education, I would never be who I am now. But most importantly, I would never be more gratitude to them than today.

You said in your letter that many of your classmates wore fashionableclothes, but you couldn't afford them so you felt very depressed. There are dif-ferent views on people's clothes. The followings are my ideas:
Firstly, you shouldn't put too much emphasis on physical appearance.
Remember that the most important task for you today is to concentrate on yourstudies. No matter what you wear, you will really look your best when youcome out first in your examinations.
Secondly, you should understand that it is a fine virtue to live in fru-gality. Just as a famous saying goes, Frugality is the mother of virtue.

我老家住在泰美。它虽然没有大城市的喧器繁华，也不上水平如镜的西湖和峰峦雄伟的泰山，比不上红叶似火的香山，更比不上桂林山水的奇特和秀丽，但它却以“山清水秀”美展出自己那无穷的魅力。
春天，那里草绿的可爱，树很壮和百花争奇斗艳的绽开自己迷人的笑脸，蝴蝶与蜜蜂也赶来凑热闹，增添了不少生机。瞧!杜鹃花婀娜多姿，品种繁多，有红的，有有紫色、有蓝色、有绿色、有黄色、有白色、有粉色等形成了天然的“彩虹”。极目远眺，杜鹃花仿佛是个五颜六色的`花地毯。一阵风拂过，它们就像会跳舞的少女翩翩起舞。在这，也有水，不然，怎配称“山清水秀”呢!那是一条小河，河水清可见底，能看见活泼可爱的小鱼在水中自由自在地游;能看见小虾在水中嬉戏;能看见横着走路的螃蟹……我时常在水里钓鱼，捉小虾，捕螃蟹……
春姑娘悄地离开我们，炎热的夏天在我们不知不觉时来了!我时常和小伙伴在河边玩捉迷藏的游戏，玩累的就躺在大树下休息，渴了就去喝河里那甘甜的水，要是你喝了一口，准会被那水所吸引，决会赞扬。这水不但好喝，作用也很大，我时常用它：炒菜，洗衣服，做汤……呀!好一幅自然和谐的画面，向往的微风，天边的红霞，头上飞过的鸟儿都不知什么时候构成了优美的画卷!
秋，给大地带来了灿烂的装饰品，给人们带来了生命的种子!在这个含着农民微笑的季节里，田野丰收了!信步走进田野，好一般仙境的画面，瞧!颗粒饱满的稻子，压得稻杆直不起腰。墙角的茄子被风吹了一下，跳起了舞蹈，好像渴望人们把它收获!农民流着豆粒般的汗水，可他们只顾只收获呢!果园的的果子也是大丰收，摘下橘子，破开薄薄的皮，咬下粒粒饱满的橘子，甜甜的果汁在嘴里，让人有种舍不得吞下去的感觉!吞下去只有一个字“甜”。我目送燕子飞到温暖的地方，感觉真好!
寒冷的冬天到了!虽然我们这不下雪，但也很迷人。树叶早已在秋天落下了，这时，西北风一吹，树叶就翩翩起舞，不时发出沙沙的歌声，好像在告诉我们冬天的快乐!对于我来说，这个季节可忙了!树叶不时飞进河水里，我老爱把树叶捡上来，它帮我忙出无穷的快乐!
家乡一年四季都是那么美，那么迷人!这真是个春，夏，秋，冬的美丽花园!

The popularity of smartphones has exerted great influence on the way people communicate, so much so that an increasing number of individuals contend that face-to-face communication is being replaced by texts and images on the mobile phone.
There are more than one angle to consider this phenomenon. On one hand, it is pleasantly acknowledged that smartphones shorten the distance between families and friends. Even people from different sides of the globe can share pictures, feelings and thoughts through various types of apps on the phone, thus building a long-distance connection. On the other hand, as the picture warns us, too much smartphone addiction interferes with people's real-life communication. Statistics show that over 70 percent of face-to-face communication consists of facial expressions and body language, which is why people should stay away from mobile phones when they have the chance to actually talk and communicate with others.
In a word, mobile phones act as an appropriate platform where people can always stay in tough however long the distance is, but a wise man should know when to put down his phone.

春天， 万物复苏，小河水哗哗地顺流而下； 活泼机灵的小鸟们在枝头喳喳地纵情歌唱； 小草们神不知鬼不觉地从地下探出了脑袋，大地换上了绿色的新衣； 小野花们争先恐后地展示着自己的美丽； 一棵棵大树好像正在返老还童， 抽出嫩黄色的新芽；。年迈的`凤凰木也紧跟着春天的步伐， 吐出米粒大小的嫩叶， 就像刚出生的婴儿那般娇嫩。
夏天，太阳像一个火炉似地炙烤着地面。凤凰木的叶子早已变成了深绿色，枝条也向四周扩展了许多，变成了一把绿色的大伞。当太阳透过茂密的树叶筛下一束束金光时， 美丽的凤凰花绽开了一张张笑脸，好像给凤凰木披上了红色的霞衣。
秋天，凤凰树的叶子慢慢地变成了金黄色，在微风吹拂下纷纷飘落下来， 给地面铺上了一层厚厚的金色地毯。课间十分钟，我和小伙伴们在凤凰树下尽情地玩耍、嬉闹，甭提有多高兴了。
冬天，刺骨的寒风从耳边呼呼地刮过，古老的凤凰木褪去了繁华，仿佛一个弯着腰、知识渊博的老学者，正在讲述着她一百多年来的沧桑岁月， 并勉励我们克服各种困难、勤奋学习，成为对国家有贡献的人才。
这就是我们百年老校的百年古树---凤凰木。
