经过了两个多小时的观看，我大概知道了影片所讲述的内容：女主角楷伦从一个来自丹麦并且爱慕虚荣的富家女蜕变为一个睿智、勇敢的女人故事。因为她贪慕男爵夫人的头衔，所以选择了用金钱交换婚姻，可是她与丈夫并不相爱。她想到要在非洲经营自己的农场，便理性的对待自己的婚姻，拥有了自己的孩子，可是这一切被丈夫的不忠破坏了——她被传染了梅毒，并且不再具有生育能力。然而对于这个突如其来的打击，她没有歇斯底里的抱怨，没有指责，而是默默的承受着。她让丈夫搬到镇上去，一个人全身心的投入到农场中去……
这时，她在来非洲的\'路上遇到的一位朋友丹尼斯闯入她的生活。他带着她在飞机上俯瞰美丽富饶的非洲大地，他们在蓝天上随着鸟儿一同翱翔，而辽阔的草原中，有着一群群奔跑着的羚羊。泛着阳光的满面春风上一片片掠起的水鸟，陶醉在这美景中的她向坐在后舱的他伸出了手臂，他们的手在高空中紧紧握在一起。
他喜欢不羁独来独往，质朴原始的生活。他说：“我不会因为那张纸而更爱你。你总是在说，你的农场，你的土著人，其实它们不属于任何人，像狮子，本来就不属于任何人。爱，需要任何的承诺吗？”
她用尽所有积蓄投入咖啡园，三年的艰辛眼看快要丰收了，而这一切却被一场大火给夺走了。当她失去了一切，农场、婚姻，她选择了回国。
丹尼斯对她说过：“我开始理解你的世界，等我回来，我飞行回来……”他永远地留在蓝天白云间，在丹尼斯的葬礼上，她读了一首诗“明智的你早早离去，因为荣耀不能为谁停留，月桂树转瞬苍翠，却比玫瑰凋零得还快”。她说，他不属于我，它们也不属于我，她返回欧洲，却只带走了关于非洲的回忆。
