被称为“宇宙之王”的.霍金，命运同样和他开了天大的玩笑，年轻有为的青春期，被病魔残忍地剥夺了他的自由和说话的权利。在常人眼中，他失去了太多，失去了精力旺盛的青春，失去了身体的自由，失去了正常的容貌……而他拥有的似乎只有数不清的不能：不能在灿烂的阳光下和孩子们放风筝，不能在明媚的春天里和朋友们去郊游，不能对任何人倾诉内心的痛苦……在这样的情况下，他在和病魔抗争的同时，又创造了一个个不可思议、震惊医学和科学界的奇迹。也是乐观的心态才使他从废人变成了超人。
乐观的力量就这么大吗？答案是肯定的。人的一生中不可能一帆风顺，面对坎坷，或许会使人一蹶不振，但如果你把痛苦通通甩到脑后，想想自己还有很多，怀着一定会成功的心态重新挑战困难，那这个人终究会战胜它。面对失败，一定要有耐心，可能努力一次不会成功，再努力还不成功，第三次或许就成功了。
记得有一次考试，我考的很差，情绪不禁低落，可一想到这句话，我就信心顿起，因为我知道，跌倒了，爬起来，一定会成功！所以希望大家也把这句话铭记在心，在失败、面对困难的时候，想想那些名人伟人，记住自己的前途任何时候都是明亮的！记住“天生我才必有用，”记住“面对阳光，阴影就在身后”。
