时间如流水一般，静静流淌而过，走过一个又一个的春秋，不经意间，又一个父亲节即将到来。几许感伤，几许忧郁涌上心头，父亲请原谅我，在这个即将到来的日子里不能回您身边，只能在远方祝福你节日愉快！
记忆中的父亲一直是一副严肃的样子，从记事起父亲就一直对我很凶，对我要求很严格，早上必须七点半前起床，晚上必须在十点半以前洗漱睡觉，不能和不认识的小孩去玩，不能……也许是对我太严格的缘故吧，我也比较听话，小的时候并没有丢他的脸，他要的班上成绩我做到了，他要的面子我也给他争取到了，可他给我的感觉就是太独断太强势了，我打心眼里不喜欢他，看到他下班回家，我就会悄悄地回到我自己的屋子，写作业，直到妈妈喊我出去吃饭才敢出去面对父亲严厉的眼神。
到初中的时候，父亲对我还是比较严格的，到学校前总是关照我路上注意安全，放学早点回家，虽然从心里我是感激他的，知道他是为我好的，但那个年纪的我更希望的是他可以纵容我，我能够在学校里自由。不过令我开心的是，随着我的长大，高中后父亲似乎对我的“关心”越来越少，只有偶尔我回家碰到他时他会问问我学习的情况，末了会和我说你也长大了自己的事情自己好好把握吧，那一刻，我突然觉得这个男人还是很可爱的，我原来并不讨厌他。
时间就这样悄悄地一天天过去，寒假的一天，我和朋友一起出去玩很晚才回来，当我回到家准备记下这一天的心情时，发现了父亲偷看了我的，我很生气，找到正在沙发等我的父亲，道出我埋藏在心很久的不满。我对他说，我觉得这是侵犯了我的隐私，虽然我是你的孩子，但不要管我到这种程度，你的孩子还是一个听话的知道该怎么样保护自己的大男孩儿，他需要自己的一份独立空间……就这样我和他吵翻了，他很生气，甩开巴掌打了我两下，巴掌打过的脸颊微微有些疼痛，也许很痛，或许那一刻我已经麻木了。父亲没有多说什么，慢慢的点燃了一根烟，走到了阳台上，站了很久很久。从那以后，我和父亲之间一直保持冷战，他没有在翻看过我的日记，我也很少跟他说话，似乎一切都很平静，只是在我需要钱的时候他会悄悄地把钱放到我屋子的书桌上，默默地离开。
而今，似乎我已真的懂了很多，已明白当年父亲的深切用意，不再怪他，也明白了一个做父亲的不易，心里也产生了对父亲很深的歉意。在这个父亲节到来的时候，我特别想说，爸，请原谅女儿以前的不对，我是爱你的，谢谢你一直以来对我的期望，我会努力的。
一丝歉意默默地从心中涌起。

The novel goes through five distinct stages: Janes childhood at Gateshead, where she is abused by her aunt and cousins; her education at Lowood School, where she acquires friends and role models but also suffers privations; her time as the governess of Thornfield Manor, where she falls in love with her Byronic employer, Edward Rochester; her time with the Rivers family at Marshs End (or Moor House and Morton, where her cold clergyman-cousin St John Rivers proposes to her; and her reunion with and marriage to her beloved Rochester at his house of Ferndean. Partly autobiographical, the novel abounds with social criticism and sinister gothic elements.
