But before that Xiamu decides to try his best to give the name in the contracts to the bogies and let them get free. Thus, a loving, touching, scary story is opened up.
《夏目友人帐》主要讲述了男主人公夏目贵志拥有可以看到妖怪的特殊能力。因为父母双亡他的性格较为孤僻，并且由于他具有特殊的能力，他常辗转在于亲戚之间并被同龄人欺负。虽然他经历了许多不幸，但他依旧有好善良没有埋怨任何人。最终他被有好善良的藤原夫妇收养并进入高中。有一天，他被妖怪追赶躲进神社，不小心打破了一只强大妖怪斑的封印。并牵涉到了他祖母夏目玲子的遗物—一本同妖怪签订的`契约书。之后，这只强大的妖怪平时便变成猫的样子待在夏目身边保护他，但是他的条件是夏目后要把这本契约书给它。但在此之前夏目决定尽其所能把契约书上的名字还给妖怪们让它们得到自由。由此，一个个温馨、感人、惊险的故事就此展开。

如果我是一条蛇。人们也许都会很讨厌我，惧怕我，甚至厌弃我。那么，我将会从一个高贵的蛇的身份，一下子成为老鼠的同类，而人人喊打。那么，我也就成了一条流浪蛇，没有了家，没有了朋友，一直将是形影相吊。但是，如果我是在冬天被冻僵了，我想我也不会再重演《农夫与蛇》的故事。虽然我不会咬伤我的恩人，但是也再不会有人帮助我的，因为我毕竟是一只天天流浪的可怜的蛇，无依无靠的小小蛇，那怕我的相貌在蛇族中倾城倾国。
如果我是一条蛇。我的下场也许十分的悲惨，我也许会被猎人捉住，他们会从我的口中将毒液一滴一滴的取出，以高价进行出售，然后把我的牙齿拔掉，做成锋利的小刀或制成一些精美的小艺术品。他们会将我那美丽漂亮的外皮，从我身上扒下来晒干，做成皮带、手套或是时尚的皮靴。他们还会将我的肉用尖刀一层一层的削下来，烤着吃，看着我在痛苦的呻吟中去。
我似乎看见了我淋淋的样子，我有了些害怕，但愿我下辈子不是一条蛇。
