Dear all,
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude to my parents for teaching me to be positive and to be strong. “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” is the opinion held by Aristotle. It is the experience of our forefathers, however, it is correct even today, including my parenting.
It is widely acknowledged that parenting, which can also be explained as family education, is of great significance in our character forming and manner acquiring. To be more detailed, setting good examples instead of just giving precepts is the greatest achievement of my parents. They not only taught me to think for the best and prepare for the worst; they taught me how. They not only told me the benefits of being strong in mind; they proved it. All those things require huge amount of time and work, but it’s worth it.
Without my parents’ contribution and education, I would never be who I am now. But most importantly, I would never be more gratitude to them than today.

夏天，太阳像一个火炉似地炙烤着地面。凤凰木的叶子早已变成了深绿色，枝条也向四周扩展了许多，变成了一把绿色的大伞。当太阳透过茂密的树叶筛下一束束金光时， 美丽的凤凰花绽开了一张张笑脸，好像给凤凰木披上了红色的霞衣。
秋天，凤凰树的叶子慢慢地变成了金黄色，在微风吹拂下纷纷飘落下来， 给地面铺上了一层厚厚的金色地毯。课间十分钟，我和小伙伴们在凤凰树下尽情地玩耍、嬉闹，甭提有多高兴了。
冬天，刺骨的寒风从耳边呼呼地刮过，古老的凤凰木褪去了繁华，仿佛一个弯着腰、知识渊博的老学者，正在讲述着她一百多年来的沧桑岁月， 并勉励我们克服各种困难、勤奋学习，成为对国家有贡献的人才。
这就是我们百年老校的百年古树---凤凰木。

亲爱的你，明天就要走了。你说你会去很远很远的地方，不会再回来了。我不舍地流着泪，你像姐姐一样抹掉我的眼泪，轻轻地对我说：“你怎么又哭了，不是说好不哭的吗？”可是道别后，我转身回头看了你一眼，却发现你的笑容中带着泪光。
很小的时候，你就出现在我的生活中。我们的年纪一样大，可你却比我显得更成熟一些。我不知道小小年纪的你经历过什么事情，可我想一定是悲伤的事情，也许你的离开就与这件事有关。
第一次见面的时候，你拉着你爸爸的衣襟，却一点也不害羞。你的表现大方得体，甜甜地问候我的爸爸妈妈：“叔叔阿姨好！”然后又大方地朝我伸出手，脸上露出甜美的笑，仿若天使一般。
记得有一次，我玩滑滑梯时把衣服弄破了，因为害怕妈妈的责骂，我惊慌失措地跑到你家，悄悄地告诉你这件事情，让你替我想办法。你想了想，就拉起我的手，走到我家门前，敲了敲门，然后你对前来开门的我的妈妈说：“阿姨，对不起，刚才我和小颖玩耍的时候，我不小心把小颖的衣服弄破了。”你那么乖巧，那么讨人喜欢，我妈妈自然不会怪你。我进了屋，回头看见你对我做鬼脸，呵，你真是上天派来保护我的小天使呀！
“你走了，以后我的衣服破了怎么办？”我在你离开的前一天问你。你轻轻地拍着我的肩，说：“你都这么大了，不会还像小时候那样把衣服弄破吧？”我还是不肯放弃，又问：“如果弄破了，你会回来帮我吗？”我用坚定的眼神看着你，我知道你会回来帮我的，可是你却是一副不知所措的`样子，让我很难受。
你离开的那一天，我没有去送你，因为我没有勇气，我怕我会再度忍不住在你面前掉眼泪。那个清晨，我听见对面的开门声，接着是你和你家人走上走下搬东西的嘈杂声。我呆呆地看着天花板，心里一片荒凉。最后我又听到“砰”的一声，对面的门关掉了，之后再无杂音。我打开门，偷偷地看着对面，心想谁会住进来，他（她）会不会像你一样温柔，一样可爱，一样善良……一阵风从楼道里吹进来，我感觉你变成了一个幻影。从此之后，你不再属于我了，亲爱的你走了，走了……
“砰！”新的邻居搬进来了，是一个比我小的女孩，我与她不曾有过交流。
一天晚上，我看见你回来了，你笑着对我说：“小颖，我骗你的！其实我和爸爸并没有走，我只是想逗逗你，让你紧张一下。”我很气愤，大声说道：“你这个大坏蛋，就会捉弄我！”可是，温柔、善良的你，又怎么会骗我呢？我觉得这应该是一场梦。我醒了，这真的是一场梦，但我马上又后悔了，我宁愿你骗我，说你不会走……

In my life I have met a great many people who are really worth recalling. But perhaps the most unforgettable person I ever know is my English teacher.
What frequently brings back memories of my school teacher is his special qualities. First and foremost, he gave us the greatest gift a teacher can offeran awakening of a passion for learning. He not only led us to an appreciation of the beauty and perfection of English language and literature, but also aroused our great interest in exploring something deeper in this field.
