当他把所有的橡木桶灌满水后，天也黑了。第二天，天刚蒙蒙亮，他起床后跑到放桶的地方一看，那些橡木桶一个个像昨天那样排列得整整齐齐，没有一个被风吹倒吹歪的。小男孩高兴地把这件事告诉了酒厂主，酒厂主微笑着对他说：“孩子，那些木桶装满水后为什么不被风吹倒？那是因为你加重了木桶的重量！”
从那以后，周围的酒厂都采用小男孩的方法，节省了许多劳动，又保持了木桶的干净。小男孩也不断地加重自己的重量，从看守木桶到参加酿酒，从传统到创新，他让名不见经传的干邑小镇变得举世闻名。这个小男孩就是日后的雷米·马丁，葡萄酒经典品牌——“人头马”的创始人。
