读到克里斯多夫对他的邻居之一---奚尔曼太太所产生的影响这里，很有感触。
这个不幸的女人了丈夫，一年后又没了女儿，和婆婆住在一起，她沉浸在失去女儿的悲伤中，几乎是个‘活人’了：“深色的眼睛没有光彩，没有表情，有时射出一道黯淡的阴沉沉的火焰，照着她蜡黄的扁平脸和瘪陷的\'嘴巴”。
首先是克里斯多夫的音乐无意中触动了她，她早已枯涸的眼泪再次流了出来：“音乐好比雨水，一点一滴地渗透了她枯萎的心，它又活过来了。”
即使如此，她也并不想认识克里斯多夫，但是接下来发生的一件小事彻底地融化了她心里的坚冰……
喜欢和克里斯多夫一起玩的孩子们在经过奚尔曼太太家时，有个孩子对她的妹妹说：“轻一点，吕塞德，你知道，克里斯多夫说过，别打搅那位伤心的太太。”于是，另一个变放轻了脚步，低着声音说话。

之后，在华德莱先生突发心绞痛不幸去世后，他的义女，那个以后毫无依靠的女孩子在奚尔曼太太的争取下，由她抚养了，这下她彻底地从往日的不幸中走了出来，带着那个女孩离开了巴黎，去乡下开始了崭新的生活……
你看，在之后，克里斯多夫在奚尔曼太太说他救了她，他还懵懵的，不知何故。
好多时候，你一句善意的话，一个微笑，一个亲切的眼神，一个不经意的小动作，一次不在意的善举……或许真的可以救一个人。
