若一个人生在正确的时间却没有超凡的能力，那么就是一声叹息；而若一个人生在错误的时间却有着超凡的能力，那注定是一场悲剧。然而不幸的是，孔子恰恰属于后者。师承老子的他，并没有将老子的无为而治的道家思想传承下去，而是开辟了儒家的先河。一腔热的他得到了鲁君的赏识，于是他终于一展抱负。哪知好景不长，因为他隳三都的建议被三桓驱逐出了鲁国。自此便开始了他多年的'与命运抗争的颠沛流离之旅。
在卫君与南子的邀请下，孔子与他的一干弟子来到了卫国。卫君许诺，愿给孔子开辟一处学堂并提供6万石粟米。我本以为孔子终于扼住了命运的咽喉，峰回路转，谁知命运跟孔子开了一个无情的玩笑。卫国乃卫国皇后南子当权，太子无法执政，卫国必定内乱。而孔子不愿在乱国与危国里出仕，没有办法，孔子只好继续周游列国，宣经传道。
由于孔子的仁学思想与当时的时代格格不入，所以各地的君主十分厌恶孔子的授学，甚至驱逐他离开领地。到了最后，连老百姓也认为跟着孔子四处游历，还不如在家种田。孔子接连受到如此多的打击，但并没有意志消沉，反而更加坚定了要宣传儒家思想的信念。
鲁国因为少了孔子的管理，很快被晋国兵临城下，而鲁国兵无良将，只好请孔子的弟子冉求回国作战。此时的孔子并没有因为当年被鲁国驱逐而记恨，而是凭一颗赤诚的爱国之心，同意了冉求回去助战。冉求很快打败了晋国的军队。领功受赏时，冉求推辞了汶上三城的封赏，只求能将恩师请回鲁国。三桓与鲁君终于被孔子的执着感动，将孔子请了回来。
终于孔子在这场与命运的拉锯战中取得了胜利。在进入鲁国前，他对着鲁国行了一个大礼。在那匍匐的虔诚的身躯中，在那"我终于回来了"的感叹声中，孔子的所作所为在我脑海中闪过，我不禁感叹：悲哉，孔子！壮哉，孔子！
