在一个偌大的城堡里，四周是一片草原，这里富裕却清静，有美丽的索菲亚，一切真是美好啊，简直就是天堂。可是城堡的主人却是一个瘫痪的魔术师，他已在这里度过整整14年，他不能赶走一只停在自己鼻子上的苍蝇，他还因为避不开屋顶上漏下来的雨滴，被雨水打了整整一夜后发了高烧。不仅如此他的身体还在每况日下，他要不停的做肾透析，他还可能要靠呼吸机才能呼吸，于是他请求能安乐。
但是痛苦还不止这些，母亲又先他而去，索菲亚被前夫找上门，在他面前受到欺辱 ，与此同时魔术师的安乐请求也被法院驳回。再悲惨的事情都得到解决，在痛苦的事情也有结束的时候，索菲亚回来了，决定帮魔术师实现愿望，帮助他无痛的去。即使她会去坐牢，她说和他现在的状况比起来无期徒刑又算得了什么，正在这时魔术师说他也要实现索菲亚的愿望要娶她为妻，索菲亚哭着答应了。
在魔术师最后的亡PARTY上，魔术师欢笑着和爱他的人们告别，他说：“为什么我现在看起来这么快乐还要离开这个世界呢呢，我快乐是因为昨天是我最后一天受难日” 最后他大笑着离开了。
魔术师在她母亲的葬礼上唱的歌:I see trees of green,red roses too.I see them bloom for mr and you.And I think to myself,what a wonderful world.I see skies of blue and clouds of white.The bright blessed day,the dark sacred night.And I think to myself,what a wonderful world...。
还有一幕是索菲亚被前夫找上门，我看到魔术师眼睁睁的看着他心爱的在他面前任由她的丈夫欺侮，他却动弹不得，只能祈求他的丈夫放过她，但是索菲亚还是被她的丈夫拖走了。我看着自己的双手，感到我可以用我的双手保护我的家人，这是一件多么让人鼓舞的事。而且想到印度妇女在她们国家的地位，是可以任由男人宰割是的，在我们国家过的不好还可以离婚，离婚虽然很痛苦，但是女人的权利至少是可以保障的。
世界多么美好，人生苦短，但是你全心全意的去活，时间其实够长了，少一点抱怨，少一点遗憾多一点幽默，多一点愉快，多一点微笑。
