As a student of science and engineering, I’ve been thinking that English does no good to me, but you help me to find the fabulous glamour of English that leads me to know a totally different world and develop a different way of thinking. Finally, your continuous encouragement supports me a lot when I meet challenges or difficulties. You said that everything to the last will certainly become a good thing, if it is not, not yet to the last. Every time, remembering your words, I am so inspired to keep going.

Dear Kate,
I’m missing you very much. I’m glad to introduce my school life to you.
My school is so beautiful that I fall in love with it .In class, my teachers teach us much knowledge which I can’t learn from my texts or parents. The teachers and classmates here are very kind and friendly to me. So we get along well with one another. Besides, I have adjusted myself to the new surroundings quickly with their help.
In addition, we can do morning exercise in the morning and take part in sports and other outdoor activities frequently, which are very helpful to build up our body and enrich our school life.(They can keep us healthy and open our mind/broaden our horizon
I’m sure that with my efforts, I’ll live/lead/enjoy a colorful and fruitful life here.

“过新年，过新年啦!”我盼望已久的一天终于到了。
这一天，家家户户都张贴大红春联，因为春联可以给家庭增添欢乐祥和的气氛。我写了一幅展现祖国欣欣向荣景象的春联“春回大地千山秀，日照神州百业兴”贴在了家门上。我又和妈妈去了买年货的地方，那里人来人往，车水马龙。进去之后，里面有很多年货，我和妈妈买了鞭炮、饺子皮……一回到家，我、奶奶和妈妈大显身手包起了饺子，我们包的有：柳叶形，元宝形，圆形。到了晚上，烧了十几道菜，放到了桌上。有鸡排、排骨、鱼肉、汤圆、饺子、螃蟹……全是我最爱吃的，看得我口水直流。过了一会儿，我们全家人吃完饭，就要守夜了。我们守夜到了晚上12点钟，就放起了鞭炮。我和弟弟先各自放了3桶彩花炮，这种鞭炮看起来五光十色，真美!爸爸放了一桶最大的烟花，这个烟花迅速飞上了天空，爆开了，像一朵朵五颜六色的花儿在空中开放。
这次过年，我不禁想起了著名诗人王安石的《元日》：“爆竹声中一岁除，春风送暖入屠苏。千门万户瞳瞳日，总把新桃换旧符。”我期待着下一次过年早点到来，也祝福亲朋好友新年快乐!

“爆竹声声辞旧岁，锣鼓咚咚迎新年”新年已经悄悄地来到我们身边，使得大街小巷上处处洋溢着喜庆的气氛。
腾空入海的蛟龙已悄然离开，迎来了丝丝作响的花蛇。真是新年新气象啊！一条条街道灯红酒绿；一家家门户张灯结彩；舞龙舞狮的都应有尽有，整个中国变得热热闹闹的，展现出了日新月异的变化。
新年里每家每户都要张贴对联，这对联啊不但看上去要喜庆，还得讲文采。我家也贴了一幅对联，上联是“时来运到好前程”下联是“出入贵人相照应”横批是“吉星高照”。金灿灿的文字耀眼夺目，再加上鲜红的背景的衬托，真让人感觉富丽堂皇，还有五彩的花边镶嵌在旁边，简直是妙不可言。你们家贴了对联吗？
新年里还有一件重要的事，也是最温馨的事那就是和家人团聚在一起吃年夜饭。那是一件多么温暖的一件事啊，和家人在一起，聊着一年里发生的趣事，感受回家的幸福和温暖以及美好的新春。
新春是如此美好，让我们珍惜这一年。在这里，我祝愿全球华人新年快乐！
