孔乙己想到了东街卖猪肉的张三，他以前挺瞧不起张三，张三是个大老粗，说话满嘴脏字，可人家张三的猪肉可不是卖得越来越红火了吗？现在的张三有了二套四合院，老婆、小妾都是珠光宝气，让人不得不生羡！
孔乙己觉得自己一生没有想通的事一下子想通了！他要活下来，就要从头做起！对，现在就干。他用漂亮的楷书写下了几个字：孔乙己钞书。翻身下床，在门口张贴起来。他的老主顾本已不寄希望于他，但其中总有几个看他可怜，又来找他。他这下一点也不怠慢了，一笔一画，工工整整，老主顾不住地夸赞，他也有了从未有过的自豪感。

秋风夹着秋雨，无情地拍打在孔乙己身上。“行乎哉？疾行也。”他一边催促自己，又一边向前爬去，又冷又饿的孔乙己爬不动了，冻僵的手再也无力支撑那满是泥浆的身子，孔乙己在一条深谷边停了下来。夜幕中，一个枯瘦的身影像一截木桩，颓然栽倒下去……
