宜兴紫砂壶推崇素面，内外不施釉。其装饰技艺主要有陶刻、镶嵌、彩釉、泥绘、绞泥、描金、浮雕、铺砂、印版等多种手法，其中最具代表性得是陶刻。紫砂陶刻以文字为主，也有花鸟、山水和人物刻画。陶刻融诗文、金石、书画篆刻艺术为一体，具有典型得中国传统文化特色。

在众多紫砂名家制作得紫砂壶中，我最喜爱现代著名手工紫砂艺人花货派代表人物蒋蓉制作得牡丹壶。这只牡丹壶提璧如木根，壶口似绿叶，壶体像一朵完全绽放得牡丹。牡丹有着黄色得花蕊，，红色得花瓣，栩栩如生地展现在你眼前。壶盖是一只欲飞得蝴蝶，它停在牡丹花儿上，仿佛不舍与这美妙绝伦得繁花离别。
