关于民俗的英文作文【一】
古代有一个爱国大诗人，名叫屈原。因受奸人挑拨，被皇上驱逐。但他仍然爱自己的国家。最后投江自尽。后来人们为了纪念屈原，便有了今日的端午节。
端午节，是我国的传统节日。但是随着岁月的流逝，许多地方的节日特色已经不复存在了。可是闽南一带却还有着浓浓的民风民俗。
上午，大家都会去割艾草。割来的艾草都被挂在门前屋后。整条街都是绿茫茫的一片，仿佛有千万条绿色的丝巾迎风飞舞。这艾草寓意驱蚊除虫，驱灾避邪。
艾草驱邪的民俗流传至今，而十二点的光阴更让人难以忘怀。
正午十二点。家家户户都端着盆子，到河边取水。用晶莹剔透的水来冲洗脚或脸，洗走自己身上的晦气。之后，人们还会聚集在河边跪拜祭祀。不仅是跪拜，在贡台上还供着不少供品，有鸡鸭鱼肉、美酒果蔬等。当然，更少不了最重要的棕子。最后，将其中6个棕子投下河去喂鱼虾。(好让屈原的遗体继续安息于海底祭祀便完毕了。其余的贡品便可以自己带回家食用，以求沾一些福气，带来好运。
午后，端午的又一个高潮到了——采莲。由一个打扮不堪入眼的醉汉为导，抬一尊木雕龙头。龙头雕刻的栩栩如生，眼睛炯炯有神，有一股神圣而不可侵犯的威严。身后跟着锣鼓队、花童等。这个游行队伍要进入每家每户舞旗拂尘。主人则要行待客之礼，送一些糖果饼干给他们。队伍十几米长，上百人组成。鞭炮声持续不断，锣鼓声响彻云霄。气势真是不同凡响!
在端午，小孩子最高兴的莫过于得到一件礼物——香包。它的色彩多以红黄紫为主，表面细绣着一些美丽的图案。据大人们说，香包里还有许多好东西。喻吉祥如意，带有长辈们对孩子的美好祝愿。
闽南的端午总是那么别具特色，那么令人难以忘怀!

世界气象组织1996年初指出：缺水是全世界城市面临的首要问题，估计到2050年，世界2/3以上的人口将生活在城市，而全球有46％的城市人口缺水，必须平衡社会经济发展和城市淡水供应管理二者之间的关系，进行水资源的储存、输送和管理的大规模工程建设。

我的家乡过春节时有很多习俗，现在我就给你们介绍一下好吗?每年到了要过年的这一个月，就成为腊月。到了腊月就要过年了，遇到的任何一个节气都和过年有关系。
腊月初八的这一天，就是喝腊八粥的日子了。这一天每家都要做一种粥，而且都要在粥里放八样东西，有红豆、绿豆、江米、麦仁、黑米、莲子和百合，还有好吃的葡萄干，熬出来的粥稠稠的、甜甜的，好吃极了!不但要喝粥，每家还要泡腊八蒜呢!听奶奶说，喝了腊八粥就要花钱准备年货了。
还有到了大年三十这一天，要贴红红的和放长长的鞭炮。知道为什么要贴对联、放鞭炮吗?这有一个传说故事。传说，有一个叫“年”的头生独角、凶猛异常的怪兽，到了大年三十晚上就要出来捣乱，夺走了很多人的性命。当它最害怕声、光和红颜色。一天晚上，“年”又出来吃人了，他在一家人门口看见这家人正在用竹子搭起的火堆取暖，燃烧的竹子发出“噼噼啪啪”的响声，把“年”给吓跑了，人们兴高采烈地欢呼起来。这就是过年贴对联、放鞭炮的习俗。
