俗话说：不到长城非好汉。我特别喜欢这一句，每一次读到时，我心中感到十分自豪、十分骄傲。
整个长城结构合理，高大坚固，由连续的城墙、关隘、敌台和烽火台构成。城墙为长城的建筑主体，关隘用于屯驻重，是长城防守的重要根据地，敌台供士兵射击、观察、掩蔽用，是城墙上的主要战斗设施。如今，它们仍然魏然屹立、蜿蜒起伏于高山之中
看到这前不见头，后不见尾的万里长城，我便想起，那时候没有火车、汽车、没有起重机，古代劳动人民用无数双手、无数肩膀抬着这一块块两三千斤重的条石，再一步步登上陡峭的山岭，是多么不容易啊!我心想，长城体现了古代劳动人民顽强的毅力和聪明的才智，如今长城显示了中华民族的悠久历史，展示了中国古代建筑工程的伟大成就。
啊!万里长城，中华人民的骄傲，全人类共同的财富，我爱您。长城，我心铭记!

读了《长城》这篇文章后，我知道了最初的长城是秦始皇为了抵御外来侵略，驱使成千上万的劳动人民用生命建造而成的，经过元、明、清等朝代的增建，才形成了今天气魄宏伟的万里长城。
文章告诉我们，长城是用巨大的条石和城砖筑成的。城墙侧有两米多高的垛子，垛子上有瞭望口，下面有射口。当敌人来侵犯时，可以用来瞭望和射击。城墙顶上每隔三百米就有一座方形的城台，也叫“烽火台”，打仗的时候，城台之间可以互相呼应。
我国古代，没有火车、汽车，就靠着无数的肩膀，无数双手，把一块块有两三千斤重的条石，一步步地抬上陡峭的山岭。这是多么艰难，又是多么神奇，多么令人不可思议啊!

last weekend we went to the countryside to have a picnic.we took several sandwiches and some bottles of water with us for lunch. of course we didn't forget to take some fruit and we even took some tomatoes and cucumbers.
we left home quite early in order to avoid the traffic jam.about two hours later, we came to a nice place. it was near a river. we put our bicycles under the trees and went swimming. it was a very hot day. the water was very refreshing.
after having a swim, we had lunch in the cool shade under the trees. then we went for a walk. we didn't come back home until the night fell.
