最近我读了《布鲁克林有颗树》，这是一本讲述生命的书，讲述如何从卑微的生命变得高贵，讲述了知识如何改变命运，家庭的力量可以让孩子实现自己的愿望。
《布鲁克林有颗树》主要讲述的是弗兰西，一个生活在布鲁克林穷人区的贫困的十一岁女孩，一个经常挨饿，整天吃发霉面包的女孩，可她怀有伟大的梦想，她的母亲不疼爱她，她的父亲也很早去世了，她总是遭遇到别人嘲笑。
弗兰西是一个有自己思想、乖巧懂事的人。她的童年如同打翻的五味瓶一般。
活着，奋斗者，爱着我们的生活，爱着馈赠的一切悲欢，那就是一种实现，生活的充实常在，人人皆可获得。
她的学生时代十分悲惨，她的同桌每次让煤油浸湿他的毛巾，在弗兰西的头发上涂抹煤油，弗兰西被全班的小朋友嘲笑，回家之后，它还被自己的母亲将大蒜放在身上，身边的人都躲避她。
作者和《童年》中的阿廖沙有相似之处，但阿廖沙的童年里虽然有黑暗，但是他的人生中也不缺乏着光明。文章中的弗兰西的童年与我们身边的人的童年有相似之处，也有不同之处。他们当中也许有的人穿过黑暗，遇见光明，但有人却会因为无法面对黑暗，从此一蹶不振。
以乐观的心态面对生活，弗兰西当时生活艰苦，条件恶劣的情况下，依然能够保持良好的心态，我们更应该珍惜现在的美好生活。

这次已经是我第五次读这本《布鲁克林有棵树》了，前四次读这本书，每次都有不懂的感受，但是这次读完了它的体会比以往的任何一次都浓烈。
这一次读完了这本关于生存的书，我再次体会到了阅读可以让卑微的生命变得高贵；知识可以改变人的.修为与命运；家庭的力量可以支撑孩子实现自己的梦想。
二十世纪初的布鲁克林，是一片宁静的乐土，而在这里，弗兰西，一颗本应无忧无虑的幼小心灵却要被迫去面对艰辛的生活，体会成长过程中的无奈百味：母亲偏爱她的弟弟，父亲深爱他却英年早逝，家境清贫，在学校饱受轻蔑和鄙夷的目光……这么一个瘦弱的小女孩，却要面对如此坎坷的人生，是多么不可思议，她也曾苦闷、忧愁、伤心，却始终保持着那份尊严，相信知识改变命运，努力的学习，终于开启了人生的另一扇门。
记得曹文轩先生曾为《布鲁克林有棵树》题序：文学就是为了做感动文章而来到这个世界上的。本来有着许多纬度的文学，到了现在，就只剩下一个纬度：思想——除了思想还是思想。
我认为，作者写了这部小说，就是为了证明在这个世界上，不知有思想是最重要的，还有许多和思想同等重要的东西，比如爱，比如感情。在这部小说中，有许多让人为之心动的叙述和描写：孩子们之间的感情，孩子与父母之间的感情，还有那位个性独特的茜茜姨妈与孩子们以及孩子们的父母的感情，都无时不无声但却很有力地撞击着人心的柔软之处。
在这部小说中，最令我难忘的是主人公弗兰西一家在最贫困的时候任不忘维护自己的尊严。小说中的凯蒂在丈夫过世，家中几乎吃了上顿没下顿之时，酒吧老板故意“还钱”给她，她坚决不收，不受嗟来之食，人穷志不短。没有人希望自己贫穷，但贫穷未必一无是处。它可以磨砺性格，苦水中泡大的弗兰西和雷尼一谈到不用吃苦的小妹妹来，反而表示出同情，说可怜的劳瑞没有了那苦，也就体会不到那苦中的甜。人可以受困、受穷，但不可以失去骨气和尊严。小说中写到一个布鲁克林的护士，本来自己出身也很贫困，却附和着势利眼的医生，骂穷人的小孩，实在是令人汗颜。
用贝蒂？史密斯的一句话来总结这部小说：“活着，奋斗着，爱着我们的生活，爱着生活馈赠的一切悲欢，那就是一种现实。生活的充实常在，人人皆可获得。”
