Founder of Labor Day
More than 100 years after the first Labor Day observance， there is still some doubt as to who first proposed the holiday for workers.
Some records show that Peter J. McGuire， general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and a cofounder of the American Federation of Labor， was first in suggesting a day to honor those "who from rude nature have delved and carved all the grandeur we behold."
But Peter McGuire"s place in Labor Day history has not gone unchallenged. Many believe that Matthew Maguire， a machinist， not Peter McGuire， founded the holiday. Recent research seems to support the contention that Matthew Maguire， later the secretary of Local 344 of the International Association of Machinists in Paterson， N.J， proposed the holiday in 1882 while serving as secretary of the Central Labor Union in New York. What is clear is that the Central Labor Union adopted a Labor Day proposal and appointed a committee to plan a demonstration and picnic.

On the way to the park. I saw the blue sky with snow-white clouds. I saw pear trees and some apple trees and so on. Below the trees, there are several kinds of flowers. It’s colorful, blue, red, yellow, pink, purple, orange and white. I saw some balloons and butterflies in the sky. I ate popcorn, cornflakes, banana and lollipop. They were wonderful. 五一放假，爸爸妈妈就圆了我这个梦想。五月三日，我和我的小弟弟—丁为一家人兴高采烈的乘着汽车到了上海。一路上白云、太阳伴随着我们，明媚的阳光好像我们愉快的心情一样。经过7个多小时的漫长时间，我们终于到了上海，纵横交错的立交桥，高大挺拔的大厦、、、、、、看得我眼花缭乱，目不暇接。我们先来到了百瑞佳宾馆吃饭。第二天我们来到了上海科技馆，这里可好玩了!有生物万象区、视听乐园、儿童科技乐园、智慧乐园、、、、、、
在爸爸妈妈的带领下我们先来到了生物万象区，模拟西双版纳的热带雨林。昆虫园、蝴蝶谷、微生物馆、两栖爬行类园、基因寻觅园等，就分布于形形色色高高低低的“热带丛林”中。我们东逛逛，西瞧瞧，沿着狭窄的小路我们来到了恐怖的洞穴——蝙蝠洞。我们一进去就听到一声声可怕又刺耳的蝙蝠的叫声。我有点害怕了，我马上跑了出去，看到第一丝曙光，我心里的.“小兔子”才平静了下来。完够了生物万象区，我们来到了儿童乐园，在儿童乐园里我们尽情的玩耍着。在滑梯上我们表现出了我们天真烂漫的一面。我们玩了半个多小时呢?最后我们来到深奥难懂的地壳探秘展区，竟也会这样有趣。它引导我深入地层，去看煤、油、气的形成，还可以亲身领略、感受火山爆发、地震的效果。
时间过得真快，我依依不舍地离开了上海科技馆。

My sister asked me “what do your like?” I answered “I like skipping rope. That’s very nice.” She said “Here is you prize, Sunny!” “Oh, thank you! I love it!” I shouted. We sat under a tree. After lunch we drank some milk.
Today I am very happy!

"五一"之旅，让人难忘。我还要去。
今年五月一日，我们一家坐着小轿车去云台山旅游，一路上，只见欢快的麦苗在风中跳着舞，红红的玫瑰花，黄黄的月季花，还有许多不知名的`小花盛开着，不时散发出淡淡的清香，田野到处充满着初夏的芬芳，我们仿佛行进在一幅美丽的画卷中。
听爸爸说，云台山属太行山系，是豫北的名山，位于河南省修武县境内。那里山岳高峻，山间常年云雾缭绕，风景优美，有着“小九寨沟”的美称。
快到云台山的时候，山路崎岖起来。远远看去，只见山脉连绵起伏，到了山脚下，我们下车步行进山。山路两边群山起伏，郁郁葱葱的绿色林海中，点缀着一簇簇小野花，带着露水和草木的清香。随处可见的潭水五光十色，色彩缤纷，而且清澈见底。在这令人心旷神怡的景色里，我禁不住跳进了清凉的水中，溅起的水花弄湿了爸爸的衣服，他拿起空水瓶，舀满水向我泼过来，哈哈，开始泼水了，我们俩互相追赶，真的是身上湿淋淋，脸上笑开花，课文里不是有句话：“清水是吉祥如意的象征，谁身上泼的水多，就意味着谁得到的幸福多。”我们怎能不高兴呢！
当我们下山时，多次回头，不忍离去。云台山，我喜欢你的山，喜欢你的水，更喜欢我们欢乐的“泼水节”。
