今天，天气闷热。太阳把大地烤得火辣火辣的，大树被热得垂头丧气，小草被晒得弯了腰，花儿也被晒得像快枯萎了一样。这种天气简直是让人喘不过气来，就连平时经常在花园中活动的老爷爷、老奶奶们都被热得躲到了家里。
下午，天气渐渐地变凉了。一大片乌云被狂风吹了过来。虽然我还不知道这乌云是从哪里吹来的，但我知道马上要下雨了。
于是，我赶紧跑到晒台把晒着的衣服收了进来，生怕被雨淋湿了。如果衣服被雨淋湿了，妈妈就白洗这些衣服了。
过了一会儿，果然下起了雨。先是从天空中飘下几滴雨点，接着大雨如注。雨点“噼哩啪啦”地打在了窗户上，奏出了一首动听的交响曲。
我站在窗户旁，看到楼下的小路上奔跑过来一个阿姨，因为没有带伞，被雨淋成了一个“落汤鸡”。同时看到花园里躺着一只红色的小桶，不知是哪个邻居家的，被雨打落了下来。楼下的杜鹃花被雨冲掉了几片花瓣，小草也被淋得低垂着头。
这场雨大约下了一个多小时才停了下来。
大雨过后，路边的树显得比下雨之前精神得多了，小草上还留下了雨滴，杜鹃花也开得比下雨之前更娇艳了。太阳公公从乌云里钻了出来，天空中出现了一道美丽的彩虹，有红色、蓝色、橙黄色、漂亮极了。老爷爷老奶奶们都从屋里走了出来，呼吸一下雨后清新的空气。他们有的在花园里聊天，有的在锻炼身体。
过了一会，我心中就起了一个大问号。为什么早上天气还好好的，怎么到了下午就下起雨来了呢?
爸爸一回到家，我就带着这个大大的问号去问爸爸。爸爸听了我问的问题后就说：“今天是二十四节气中的‘谷雨’，每年第一场大雨一般出现在这段时间，对水稻栽插与玉米、棉花苗期生长有利。”爸爸接着又说：“‘谷雨’，顾明思议，播谷降雨，是二十四节气之一，同时也是播种移苗、埯瓜点豆的最佳时节。谷雨时，雨水增多，十分有利于谷类作物的生长。”听了爸爸的话，我心中的大问号也没有了。
