薄山湖位于驻马店南部，那里山清水秀，景色十分美丽，来观赏的人都赞叹不已。坐船从薄山湖大坝向里走，不一会就可以看到龟岛，龟岛像一只大乌龟在缓缓爬行，背上有壳，有头，四肢，十分逼真。过了龟岛继续向里走是猴岛，上面有许多放养的猴子，岛上树木葱茏，四周尽是悬崖峭壁。猴岛再往里走不远，就到了毛竹林和石寨了，毛竹林的竹子棵棵粗壮，株株青翠欲滴，从远处看就像一大块绿宝石一样。石寨是以前人们躲避战乱的，但现在是和平社会，这里成了人们游览的地方。游过毛竹林逆流而上，就是骆驼峰，骆驼峰就像一只长途跋涉的'骆驼，储存的脂肪和水都快消耗光了，可突然有一摊清泉摆在眼前，骆驼低下头大口大口忘情地喝了起来，竟然化成了一尊塑像。薄山湖的景点真多，景色真美啊，每天都有人来游玩。
