流通部作为高校图书馆最为重要的的组成部分,为图书馆的快速发展做出了非常卓越的贡献。在认真扮好老黄牛角色的同时,为图书馆形象的展示也增色不少。但在图书馆大踏步的同时,流通部的服务工作还是存在一定不尽如人意的地方,现总结如下:
1、服务形式的单一,导致馆员服务淡薄
高校图书馆流通部的工作直接面对老师和学生,长期的历史积淀使读者在心目中总认为图书馆的工作就是图书简单的借借还还,动作简单而机械,属于低层次的服务工作,这些观念严重的打击了流通部馆员工作的热情。虽然图书馆很早就提出了为读者服务的新理念,
由于缺乏工作热情,有一些馆员还是习惯于“坐等”的被动服务,懒于巡视书库,对于读者所提出的问题也是很少有耐心去解答,并任由读者在书库里盲目的寻找资源。读者经常将不满到馆领导处反映,馆领导接到意见反馈就会对馆员进行批评教育,造成馆员对流通工作感到反感、乏味和厌倦,缺乏兴趣和主动性,并将这些不满传递给读者。这无形中就形成了一种恶性循环。
2、缺乏自主学习能力,导致馆员信息服务能力不高
随着计算机网络技术的广泛应用,流通部的服务工作也上升为一种学术性、技术性、创造性都很强的工作,读者对馆员服务能力的要求也越来越高。然而,流通部的馆员往往一上班,就来往于图书与读者之间,每天借书、还书、整架、上架、倒架,这些工作都是机械性的重复劳动,日复一日,年复一年。同时,随着教育体制的.改革,学校招生数量的逐年“大跃进”式增加,图书馆流通部的工作任务越来越重。这些导致流通部的馆员很少有时间自我充电,不能进行自主学习。长积月累,馆员的个人服务能力得不到提高,一直停留在最初的能力水线上。面对高校图书馆流通服务工作现代管理技术的不断发展变化,在新的服务模式下,高校图书馆馆员应该如何提高自身的服务能力,做好传统与现代结合的流通服务工作,是当前亟待解决的问题。
3、缺乏沟通,导致馆员与读者冲突不断
高校图书馆与其他服务行业类似,馆员在与读者的接触过程中,只有读者对馆员提出服务要求,而不存在相反过程可能,这就很容易造成馆员与读者之间的心理差距。另外,由于馆员与读者在性格、教育背景以及人生观、价值观等方面的差异,难免产生矛盾,如果不进行有效的沟通,会加剧矛盾,导致冲突。
为了更好的发挥流通部作为高校图书馆核心部位的重要作用,我们要认识到在读者服务工作中存在问题的同时,更要将这些问题逐一化解,更好的发挥高校图书馆为广大教师、学生提供信息服务的功用。
