春天来了，万物复苏，柳儿吐出了新绿，花儿散发出芬芳，小燕子也从南方飞回来了。
小燕子飞啊飞，飞过一条小河边，看见小河里扔满了易拉罐、一次性饭盒、方便袋……各种各样的生活垃圾，河水也散发着一阵阵臭臭的味道。
忽然，他看见一只小鱼把头伸出水面，小燕子连忙说：“小鱼儿，你好啊，有空出来透透气啊？”
小鱼愁眉苦脸地说：“别谈了，小燕子，以前我们在清澈的河水里面自由的游玩，吃着青绿的水草，多自在啊！可现在？唉……”小鱼重重的叹了口气。
“为什么啊，你这样唉声叹气的？”小燕子关切地问。“你不知道啊？”小鱼惊讶地说：“河那边建了一座大型工厂，把生产中的污水直接排放到河里，整条河都被他们污染了，我们也呛了快窒息了。人们也把生活中的垃圾随意地扔到河里，河水一天不如一天了，我们也准备搬家了。
小燕子耸耸背说：“怪不得我感觉河水臭臭的，空气也没有以前新鲜了。小鱼小鱼你快看，那里的烟囱又在冒黑烟了！”“是啊，你看太阳公公也被呛黑了脸。”小鱼愤愤的说：“人类真是太不注意保护环境了！”“是啊，他们还整天嚷嚷着‘保护环境，人人有责’呢，真是空喊着口号呀！”小燕子也气愤地说。“好啦，我要搬家走了，再见了小燕子。”
“再见吧小鱼，希望你能找到一处清澈的家园。”小燕子依依不舍的和小鱼儿道别了。

从前，有个叫公孙仪的人，非常善于弹琴。从他的琴声中能听得出泉水涓涓，也能听得出大海的怒涛，能听得出秋虫唧唧的低鸣，也能听得出小鸟婉转的歌唱。曲调欢乐的时候，会让人禁不住眉开眼笑，曲调悲哀的时候，能使人心酸不已，跟着琴声呜咽。凡是听过他弹琴的人，没有不被他的琴声打动的。
一次，公孙仪弹琴的时候，看到有几头牛在不远处吃草，不由得突发奇想：“我的琴声，听了的人都说好，牛会不会也觉得好呢?且让我来试一试。”
这样想着，公孙仪就坐到牛旁边，使出浑身的解数，弹了一首名叫《清角》的拿手曲子。这琴声果然美妙极了，任何人听了都会发出“此曲只应天上有，人间能得几回闻”的感慨。可是那些牛还是静静地低着头吃它们的草，丝毫没有反应，就好像它们从来不曾听到过什么一样。
公孙仪想了想，又重新弹起琴来。这一次曲调变了，音不成音、调不成调，听上去实在糟糕，很像是一群蚊虹扇动翅膀发出的“嗡嗡”声，中间似乎还间杂有一头小牛“哞(mou哞”的叫声。
这回牛总算有了反应了，纷纷竖起耳朵、甩着尾巴，迈着细密的小步子走来走去地倾听着琴声。
牛终于听懂了公孙仪的琴声，那是因为这声音接近于它所熟悉的东西。所以我们解决问题的时候要根据不同事物的不同特点，对症下药地研究解决方法。

命运接着说：“既然说是命运，那么还需要谁来控制呢?我不过是顺其自然，直的就往前推，率的就听任它。实际上，人们都是自寿自夭、自穷自达、自贵自贱、自富自贫，我哪里能够知道那么多呢?我怎么能管得了那么多呢?”
能力和命运的这段对话说明：力是进取之力，命是自然之命;力与命紧密相联，命与力因果相关;有什么样的能力，就会有什么样的命运;而“命”的最终取向，除了自身努力外，还必须借助自然的力量。
