可和屠呦呦生活在一起真的挺难。她不会做饭，不会洗碗，没时间去幼儿园接送孩子……总而言之，她不是个会过日子的女人。
李廷钊去云南五七干校之前，他向屠呦呦要了五分钟时间，开个小会。他拿出了家里的购货本，饭票、肉票、零钱、活期存折，逐一向屠呦呦解释了它们的用处和用法，屠呦呦听着应着。
最后，他从云南回来，屠呦呦没有用过一次购货本，自己做饭太麻烦了。

有时，他的一碗酒酿圆子，会让她联想到提取青蒿素的关键在于温度。她弄不明白复杂的人事关系，丈夫会帮她分析，尽管她不一定会听他的，可李廷钊是真的明白她的心思。
青蒿素制剂上临床前，要进行人体试服试验，屠呦呦还没拟好试验计划，李廷钊就已经站在了她的前面。如果需要有人去试服，那么让他来。
