他利用休息时间，来到全国各地机关、企事业单位，做演讲、做动员，只为通过社会力量，帮助更多瑶乡儿女走出大山。就这样，莫振高一共筹集了3000多万元善款，让1.8万贫困学子圆了大学梦。最后因积劳成疾，莫振高于3月9日突发心脏病去世。他“化缘”之路改变了数以万计贫困孩子命运。就是这样一位平凡老师用生命谱写出了人民教师关荣与伟大，让我们看到了国人一种从物质至上到精神至上转变。
