当今社会在不断的发展，人们的物质生活大踏步的.在提高，精神方面也更需要丰盈的满足。那么书也就成了人们生活中不可缺少的一部分。它是我们精神的食粮和支柱，在不断地给我们补充知识营养，充实我们的生活。因此多读书，读好书，让读书成为一种习惯，让书香溢满校园，让读书成为我们每个青少年的良好行为，是必不可少的部分。
高尔基曾经说过：“书籍是人类进步的阶梯。”是啊，这句话说得太精辟了。我作为一个现代人，生长在改革开放的大潮中，就必然感到缺少文化内涵，这时我只能想到的就是书。“书”你可别小看它，它的作用可多着呢!书可以丰富我们的知识，可以开阔我们的视野，让我们明辨是非，让我知道什么是真善美……书的确好处很多呀!我们国家是一个有着悠久的文化历史，是一个文化灿烂的文明古国，古诗文就是这个灿烂文化中的瑰宝和精髓。学校倡导我们学生要读古诗文，走进经典，可我发现有一些同学他们并不爱读古诗文。理由是古诗文一般意思不好懂，与现在不适应。错了，在我读了一些古诗文之后握渐渐地发现了她的魅力，也开始喜爱她了。
上学期间学校开展了许多活动：作文比赛、古诗文背诵比赛等。为了参加比赛，我读了好多书，有现代的、古代的，通过读、背，不仅使我懂得了许多，学到了不少的知识，也使我获得了全校第一的好成绩。通过这次活动才使我们真正到了读书的快乐。
