the summer vacation had come round again. i was happy that i could forget about school at least for a while. lest i fool around all through this summer vacation, i made a plan as to how to spend it. first, i thought i should go over all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that i could have a better understanding of them.
then i thought i should take up some forms of exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. it stood to reason that with such a good plan i should make the best of my vacation time. i did, because i lived up to what i had planned.

我喜欢看书，尤其喜欢看历史书。那些往事，那些过去了的点点滴滴，在岁月的长河里渐渐沉淀，终究成为历史，在司马迁的《史记》里，在《中华上下五千年》的\'苍劲文字里，我看到了这个世界。古人用心和汗水凝聚成了一本本史书，略苍白的文字里，又有多少人的悲欢离合。
一个早晨，我双坐在书桌前，捧一本《中国史通》，让自己沉浸在文学中，追溯往事。从上古时期猿人的原始文明，到新中国的成立，祖先们留下的每一个脚印，都深深地刻在我的脑海里。史官笔下的每一个字，每一句话，看似简简单单，背后却有多少个催人下泪的故事，多少个春秋。
看着微卷又有些泛黄的扉页，一个个故事跃然浮现在我脑海中：“秦始皇一统江山，唐朝开元盛世，九一八卢沟桥事变，一九一一年的辛亥革命。。。。。。”多少个王朝盛世哀歌，在我的脑海中一掠而过。通过历史，通过古卷的浓浓书香，我看到了这个世界的繁荣昌盛，也看到了世界的沧桑。
历史的点点滴滴，像一块块拼图，拼凑成这个复杂的世界。在科技发展日新月异的现在，世界的本貌也没有因此而改变。周末的清晨，骑着车，迎着江风，在钱塘江边缓缓走过，大城市平日的喧嚣声都凝聚在潮水中，没有汽车的喇叭声，没有发动机的轰鸣，没有工厂发现了阵阵噪音。只有江边一棵棵挺拔的树，一朵朵美丽的花，一个个灌木丛和翻滚的江水，空无一人。我想，这才是这个世界本应有的模样。比起平日里的繁锁嘈杂，我心中更向往这片净土。
吹着凉凉的江风，风中渗杂嫩叶的清香，清晨的露水就仿佛洗去了这个世界的污垢，回到那个孩童般纯真的年代。耳边是呼啸的江风，面前是汹涌的江潮，此刻，我的心却无比宁静。
过了不久，城市从春天的早晨苏醒过来，汽车发出刺耳的鸣笛声，江边的人也渐渐多起来了，太阳也揭开了面纱，忙碌的一天开始了，仿佛在一瞬间，大地就撒满了阳光，江边热闹非凡是，世界又变得明朗清晰，仿佛过的一切不复存在。
世界在我眼中，只有过去值得我们怀念，但我们更应该珍惜眼下的当今社会，历史是一碗热茶，值得我们细细品尝。然而，在这个学习竟争激烈的年代，唯有拼博才能造就绚丽的人生，唯有坚持，才能使看到的世界更宽广更明亮。
我们缅怀过去，更应该放眼当下。

It was the first day of our summer holiday.All of us were very happy. Why? Because we have two months to do things we love to do.We are free.Although we have some homework.But we can finish them in several days.And the rest time we can make good use of.My god! We have been very tired after hard studying.In summer holidays,I want to have full sleep and eat good food in order to replenish myself. Last but not the least,I will have a good rest.

summer can be very hot in southern taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"c or more. because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. also because of this i stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky.
actually i like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. in the summer vacation that has just ended i went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. this summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. as a second-year senior student i had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. in other words, i must find time to study, too.
so i divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.
