生存其实很简单

生活在美国科罗拉多州大峡谷中的雕用一种特殊的树枝筑巢。为了寻找这种被称为“铁树”的树枝，一只雌雕一天中有时要飞行200公里。“铁树”的树枝上还生着许多刺，使得雕巢能够牢固地建在峡谷的悬崖上。巢建好后，雌雕还要在上面铺上树叶、羽毛、杂草，防止幼雕被刺扎伤。

随着幼雕的渐渐长大，它们开始在窝内争夺生存空间。它们对食物的需求量迅猛增加，以至于雌雕再也满足不了它们的需求。雌雕本能地感到，为了让这窝幼雕生存下来，就必须让它们离巢。为了激发幼雕的独立生存能力，雌雕开始撤去巢内的树叶、羽毛等物，让树枝的尖刺显露出来。巢变得没从前那么舒适了，幼雕纷纷躲到巢的边缘。这时，雌雕就逗引它们离开巢穴。一旦幼雕离巢后向下坠落时，它们就拼命地扑打着翅膀阻止坠落，接下来的事情对于雕来说再自然不过了——它们开始飞行。

黄鳝被笼里的诱饵吸引，就从那篾缝里钻进去，但是它在笼子里面没法转身，要想出去，只能后退。后退的时候，篾片的尖梢一根根扎在尾上，它不知道身后那坚硬的是什么东西，退下去会有什么结果，所以一触即缩，怎么也鼓不起勇气朝后退，就只好在笼里一直呆下去。假如黄鳝敢于朝后退一步，它就不会被关进笼子而束手待毙了。

沙丁鱼是幼鲸最爱吃的鱼。沙丁鱼常常被它成群成队地吞进腹中，幼鲸已严重威胁着沙丁鱼的存在。沙丁鱼中的`一位智者决定除掉这只可恨的鲸，它组织一群群沙丁鱼向这只幼鲸发起进攻。幼鲸感到很好笑，这同送食物有什么两样，于是，面对纷纷冲上来的沙丁鱼，它不紧不慢地张开大嘴，将一群群沙丁鱼尽收口中。一天又一天过去了，沙丁鱼总是以失败而告终，而幼鲸总是以胜利结束战斗。每次取得胜利，幼鲸都十分兴奋，它总是兴致勃勃地追逐沙丁鱼的残兵败将，将它们一一收入口中。
