作为一名中学生，我已经具备了一定的科学文化知识，就必须懂得适应整体教育发展趋势，在体恤学校领导老师的辛勤教育工作基础上，力所能及得配合学校各项教学工作活动。作为一名学生，我的能力有限，唯一能够做的就是好好学习，在这样一个方面，也就是好好得利用好自习课。关于自习课要做什么，我也有自己的一些觉悟：
首先，自习课最应该做的就是做作业。一天上课下来，老师教授了我们很多知识，这些知识初来熏陶，我们的大脑并不会马上消化，这就需要我们通过自习课做作业的形式来巩固课业知识。都说考场如战场，一个能上战场冲锋敌的合格士兵，倘若没有平时的刻苦训练，是无法保证有效歼敌并且存活下来的。同样的，我们作为学生，面对今后中考、高考的严峻挑战，倘若没有在自习课当中做题解题的刻苦训练，也是不行的。
其次，自习课要进行课业反思与知识拓展。在学校里我们大多情况下都是单纯接触理论知识，通常于实际实践有些隔阂。这就需要我们进行课业反思与知识拓展，老师上课时间就那么宝贵的几十分钟，通常只会讲理论知识。因此我们需要在自习课自己发挥想象力，去分析这些理论知识的\'实际运用意义，这对于我们今后步入社会，将理论知识运用于实践工作大有益处。充分利用自习课进行课业反思与知识拓展，也在相当程度上让我们避免陷入“纸上谈兵，坐而论道”的庸俗空泛境遇。
再有，自习课培养自律能力，也可以进行必要的休息。与讲授课堂一样，自习课同样是一门课堂，就需要我们切实得遵守课堂纪律。但是自习课又与讲授课堂存在一定区别，就是通常不会有老师老监督你，需要大家自律自觉。因此自习课也是在培养大家的自律能力，一个人没有自律能力是可悲又可怕的，这样的严重后果自然不必多说什么了。但是在这里我任然想表达一下自己的观点，我认为自习课在遵守纪律的前提下，是允许同学们做适当休息的，比如实在疲惫困倦了眯眼小睡一会儿，又比如伸张一下腰背倒杯茶休息一下，都是允许的。以至于有些同学在完成课业的情况下，就是在自习课发呆看一些课外书，来充分使大脑休息放松一下，也是未尝不可的。
自习课，一个让同学们适当放松约束的课堂，但他并不是让同学们随意放纵的时光。学生时代看似漫长，可是仔细一想那又是多么宝贵而短暂。或许多年以后，我们回首读书时光，记忆里快乐最多的时候正是自习课时。同学们，倘若你此刻珍惜好这样的自习课，以后的咱们也不会留下遗憾。
