陈胜、吴广揭竿而起，高呼自由;马丁路德金用生命梦想自由……然而，自由是要流的，于是诗人写下了——生命诚可贵，爱情价更高。若为自由顾，两者皆可抛。
生命的意义不完全在于自由，但脱离了自由，生命将只是困束思想的牢笼。
有人说过相对自由这个概念。自由是必须在一定范围内的。法律上便是这么规定。这个相对自由伴随着人的意识诞生到现在一直存在着。人类渴望自由，于是不惜一切争取自由。当人类所获取的自由能够满足于自身需求及社会的发展，自由的意识于外界的环境便达到一种短暂性的相对稳定平衡状态。这也就到了一个层次的相对自由。可矛盾永远存在。人的发展导致的整个社会及社会整体意识的进步又让人渴望得到更大的自由空间。于是便出现了变革。像一个朝代的变法和不同朝代因起义改革而导致的替换便是这种变革的产物。人民因通过这些变革而到达另一个相对自由的短暂平衡，继续发展。这样看来，自由便是在不断膨胀的。而社会和意识的发展又会带动下一次更大的自由而发动的变革，周而复始，永无终结。于某方面讲自由便成了一个无法到达尽头的深渊。
生命便因此走在一次又一此的相对自由的路上。便是一在种后之视今，亦犹今之视昔的悲凉感慨。
然而，另我们满意的是我们有所前进，有所突破。那个永远无法到达的渴望的尽头成了我们奋进的目标，呼唤着我们挣脱束缚，突破局限，勇往直前。争取自由在成功之前叫做反叛，在成功之后叫做革命。而在辉煌于亡之间，我们在为自由而流!
庆幸的是这只是一个过程，一个另我们满意的过程。而生命恰恰也是是一个过程。于是我们满意生命过程中我们流过。
