教师首先要有扎实的专业理论水平。
对所教课程的内容要非常熟悉，从教材、体系到知识点等都必须了解、掌握；上课能够做到驾轻就熟，深入浅出，难易恰当，重点突出，对学生的回答能及时做出明确的判断，不能模棱两可，这就要求我们要不断地充实自己，不断地学习。
其次，要有好的教学方法。
作为教师来讲，怎么教是一个很重要的问题，好的教学方法能够吸引学生的注意力，培养学生的学习兴趣和积极性，使学生得到启发，思维能力得到锻炼，从而能够使学生自主地学习。相反，照本宣科、填鸭式的教学方法是不受学生欢迎的，这样的课堂是缺乏生机、缺乏活力的。
因此，能否掌握学生喜欢的教学方法，也是教师业务水平的重要体现。尤其是我们现在参加的二期课程，在培养能力，发展思维的同时，必须兼顾基础知识和基本技能的落实。
第三，要有比较宽广的知识面和反思能力。
教师如果没有比较宽广的知识面，就不能在教学中游刃有余，也不利于拓展学生的思维。业务水平的提高要靠不断学习、反思和探索，而这背后的决定因素是教师的责任心。
