Beloved father:
It’s a long time no contacting with you since last e-mail. And I miss you so much. Recently I luckily turn to the third officer working on board MV Blue Whale,which is a container ship. I intend to introduce you what Ido on this big vessel in this letter.
I am the third officer working in the deck department. As you know, the third officer is responsible to the master for the proper performance of his assigned bridge watchstanding and navigational duties.
On board, my first daily work is wathckeeping from 8 to 12 and from 20 to 24. my second daily work is in charge of the maintance of the fire-fighting equipment and life-saving equipment. The third , I am also responsible for fire and boat drills, I have to design a muster list and make crew to know the best escape route clearly. Additionally, there are also some simple things I have to do in daily work. For example, I have to assist the Chief Officer in supervising cargo handling operation 、to measure the draft at the discretion of the Chief Officer or the Master、to assist the Master on the bridge with anchoring and mooring and unmooring operation is underway and so on.
In the end, I strongly believed that you must be very familiar with my special work through what I said. And I hope you can stand my back and make me stronger. We will have a reunion soon.

早在军训的前几天我已准备好出门要用的东西，比如牙膏、牙刷等一些生活用品，因为我对军训是梦寐以求。军训当天我怀着无比兴奋的心情走向桃花少年军校，等教官们介绍完毕之后，我们马上冲向各自的寝室，一切就绪，就匆匆跑到楼下集合。
下午开始训练，因为是第一天来这里，教官对我们还是比较宽松的，可是到了第二天一切都要以军人的要求来训练我们，那会是什么样的呢？
因为作为一名“军人”，给人一目了然的是气势，军姿更是重要，所以我们首先练习站军姿：收腹、抬头挺胸、两眼平视前方（不能乱瞟），大拇指按在食指第二关节处，中指紧贴裤缝，这些都是站军姿的要领。除了气质，动作的一致性也是极为重要的，所以在接下来的队列训练中，我们也不能掉以轻心，必须服从教官的命令，作到一切行动听指挥。
一开始，所有的队员都精神饱满，尽力做到最好，我也是一样，所要达到的目标是：不求最好，只求更好。但是军校的严格计划，使我们“如临大敌”，只好硬着头皮，撑着身子继续克服接下来的难关……
说实话，其实教官们给我的第一印象是那种“冷漠型”的，面无表情，但是我可以看出他们坚定的目光和顽强的毅力。马上一天的时间在我们的训练中过去了，经过一天的相处，我认识了不少与我并肩作战的“战友”，也使我明白了教官实际上也是关心我们的，属于“外冷内热型”的，呵呵！反正也说不清楚，就感觉他们不凶时，不，不能用凶，应该说他们不严厉的时候吧——还是挺可爱的。
回寝室的时候，我的一些“同胞难友”一个劲儿地喊累，我也差不多，倒头就睡，不过我知道来这就要作好思想准备，因此就觉得没有什么拉！
军训内容中最令我激动的是：登舟山第一高峰‘安期峰’。站在山脚下，抬头望去，只觉得好高，不过我相信自己吃得消，毕竟“爱拼才会赢”。
刚一开始我们有说有笑，尽头十足地前进，到了总路程的1/2,我已经是“一步千斤重”，根本无力再进，本来活蹦乱跳的我是垂头丧气，我想打退堂鼓，这时老师和教官都上来了，他们都鼓励着我，帮我拿水，我才坚持走完2/3的路程，这时我真的无力。我想：打我都不要再上去了……可是我又不想掉队，丢学校的脸，所以我又默默的坚持下来了，我几乎是老师帮我拖上去的。“坚持就是胜利”回想来还真是吃力，不过到了山顶，那感觉不错，尽管还是“挥汗如雨”，尽管仍是无力。“真的是太累拉”发自肺腑的感言。下来的时候还是挺舒服的，和教官比速度。晕哦，自不量力，合乎！
几个女同学体力透肢，达到极限了，可她们还是在艰难地前进，真可以说是“步步皆辛苦”啊！去安期峰的事先告一段落。
下午4点，我们练习军体拳前6招——打拳时要用力，动作要到位，看教官打的那么轻松，我以为军体拳不就这么两下，就三下五除二地耍了起来，可是只有你亲自尝试过才知道那个叫“费力”啊！男孩子学得倒挺认真，不过跟教官的要求还相差十万八千里，最多算个‘绣花拳’拉……那么快又是一天！
接下来的几天倒挺舒服的，也没有前几天的‘费神’，因为最苦的日子过去了，正所谓“习惯就好”！我们去参观了军营，在那里上课坐姿要端正，精神要集中，腰杆要挺直。我们还去了教官们的寝室，真可以说是“大开眼界”，‘一尘不染’啊，被子叠得那真要拍案叫绝。最精彩的是‘四百米障碍’，教官们的表演让我们佩服的五体投地，看得是目瞪口呆……漂亮！最刺激的要数‘步枪一练习——一百米精度射击’了，这是我们所有学员第一次玩真刀真枪，真的是好兴奋，不过每人只能打四发，真遗憾没有好好发挥……
马上又是结业典礼，我们被分为男生和女生两大方块，进行分组训练，男生主要表演他们的强项‘军体拳’女生则是基本内容‘队列’，大家都认真对待，十分严肃，作错动作主动报告，真难得——以前一些调皮捣蛋的学生在老师面前就不会打报告，真是教育了他们！典礼当天，还颁发了优秀队员奖状、结业证书，我们还和教官、老师们进行了合影，可以是人生中一段美好的留念啊！
七天的时间那么快就过去了，真的是有点舍不得离开，也许是因为觉得好玩，也许是因为教官们对我的好，种种原因都使我不想那么快结束军训生活，不过那也没有办法，毕竟那里不是我们的归宿，我们终究还是要回家的。
上船时，同学们都两眼泪汪汪，但是最终还是没有落下来，虽然离别是悲伤的，不过‘开心的假期，美好的回忆’，我想我是不会忘记这次军训生活的。
“吃得苦中苦，方为人上人”这就是我在军训期间总结出来的经验了！

Although we can only keep in touch with each other by the telephone or the Internet, I wish I could let you know how much I love you and how much I’ve appreciated the things you’ve done for me. It is never too much to say thank you to you, my dear parents.

It is said that genius only means hard-working all one’s life. But I think combining exertion is the best way for learning.
The most important thing to me was that I feel frustrated for having few friends to confide in due to your strict rules. I can’t have a play date, participate in a school play or even choose my own extracurricular activities. Who will accept such a boring and troublesome person? The ant sees this, and runs quickly to bite the man's leg. "Ouch! Ouch!" The man feels pained and drops his gun. The dove hears and flies away. So the man picks up his gun and leave.
The dove comes to her nest. "Thank you, my little friend," she says, "You have saved my life."
The little ant is so glad, because he can help the dove.
一只蚂蚁在河边散步。他看见喝水自言自语道："这河水看上去真清凉啊!我要去喝点。"可是他在喝水的时候，一不小心滑进河里了。
"啊!救命!救命!'蚂蚁叫喊着。
一只鸽子正呆在树上，听见呼救声，就扔给他一片树叶。"快爬到树叶上去。她说："你会漂到岸上的。"
"谢谢你，鸽子。你真善良。"蚂蚁一边说一边向家跑，"你救了我的命，我会报答你的。再见!"
"再见!小心别掉进河里了。"鸽子说。
几天后，鸽子正在筑巢，一个人举着枪要打鸽子。蚂蚁看见了，迅速地跑过去，在那个人的腿上咬了一口。"啊呀!哎呀!"那个人疼得扔掉枪。鸽子听见了，连忙飞走了。那个人只好捡起枪，走了。
鸽子又飞回巢里。"谢谢你，我的小朋友。"鸽子说，"你救了我的.命。"
小蚂蚁可高兴了，因为他也帮助了鸽子。
