2018年3月2日，学校组织了教职工观看电影《厉害了我的国》，该片将党的十八大以来中国的发展和成就，以及中国特色社会主义进入新时代这一重大论述，以纪录片的形式首次呈现在大银幕上。回首这砥砺奋进五年时光，无数的光辉时刻值得被所有中国人铭记，该片展现了我国这几年高科技方面的突飞猛进：人类历史上最大的射电望远镜FAST、全球最大的海上钻井平台“蓝鲸2号”、“墨子号”量子通信卫星、C919大飞机、中国桥、中国路、中国车、中国港，“振华30号”完成港珠澳大桥的最后吊装，“复兴号”动车组率先实现350公里时速的运营，首个太空实验站“天宫二号”如期升空，“南水北调工程”完成通水运行……中国一系列重大科技成果一时间频频亮相。
影片不仅彰显了我国的雄厚实力，也体现了中国人民不畏艰险、埋头苦干、开拓进取的美好情操。中国电影家协会秘书长饶曙光表示，这部《厉害了，我的国》是宏观与微观的结合，是宏大主题的表现，也是微观感性的.展示，它通过一个有一个生动具体的故事拉近了与观众的距离，让观众在赞叹在惊呼的同时，发自内心地明白——“幸福是奋斗出来的”。当然，一个又一个的“中国奇迹”更是奋斗出来的。
