议论文三要素之一“中心论点”经常会成为高中阶段大大小小的考试的重点考查对象。因此，知道一些切实可行的归纳议论文中心论点的方法，既是考试的要求，也是进行点论结合的片段训练的第一步。在片段训练中，可根据以下方法给出议论文中心论点：①用标题点明中心论点。②开头提出中心论点。③开头小故事引出中心论点。④在中间用某个承上启下的过渡句提出中心论点。⑤结尾归纳出中心论点。⑥片段可不直接提出中心论点，但始终围绕论点展开论述。在进行片段写作时，要合理规划论点的分布情况，将中心论点和分论点区分开，避免出错。最好在片段的开头、结尾以及中间部分均对中心论点有所涉及，保持论点论据的整体性和连贯性。进行点论结合片段训练的关键是引导学生用“一句话”概括出来本段的核心内容，指明中心论点。判断这一句话是否是本段的核心内容，主要看本段的其他部分使用的例子、说明的道理、所打的比方是不是都围绕着这个问题来讲。
片段训练应培养学生“回头检查”的习惯，检查每一句话是否都符合下述原则，否则需修改：中心论点必须与试题的要求和原则保持一致；中心论点必须是完整的陈述句，避免出现歧义；中心论点必须有其他论据的支撑。
