A letter to my mother

Oct. 17th

Dear mother,

I have been good at school. I often think of you when I go to bed because we always go for a walk before go to bed at home. So I miss you everyday. Do you miss me? Why don’t you call me? I’ve got a lot of things to tell you. One of the things is about foreign teacher’s daughter. Her name’s Skyler. She lives in Canada. She comes to our class to learn Chinese and English with me in my class. This afternoon, when it was art and craft class, our class were cleaning the gymnasium. And she did it with us too. So I usually talk to her when she doesn’t know what to do? But when the class is over, I always haven’t got enough time to talk to her. And I usually can’t find her. So we don’t have time to introduce to each other. But it is the first time that I have a foreign student. So I’m very happy! Mum, you often tell me, “If you are happy, I’ll be happy, too.” So you have to be happy, because I’m happy! I like you when you are happy!

Im writing to you in Beijing.

Im very happy to visit Beijing again. To my surprise, great changes have taken place here recently.

Today I went to Wangfujing Street. Now the streets are cleaner and nicer than before. There are many flowers everywhere and there is a fine smell of the flowers in the air. There are more new buildings, modern shops and large markets in it. People in Beijing are happy. Everyone has a smile on the face.

I know they are working hard for the 2008 Olympics. I hope they will have a good luck.

Dear Xiao Wang,

I’m very glad to learn that you’re going to visit me during the week-long holiday. My parents will also be happy to see you again. I am sure you will enjoy every minute here.

I have arranged our schedule for the holiday as follows. On the first day you arrive, I’ll show you around our campus. On the second day, we’ll visit the art gallery and the music hall. Next day, we’ll climb a hill in the northeastern part of the city. On the top of the hill, we can have a wonderful bird’s eye view of the city. During the next three days, we’ll make some short trips to some places of interest nearby, such as the Swan Cave, the Golden Lake, etc. On the last day, I’ll see you off at the railway station.

Please remember to call and tell me your train number and time of arrival so that I can meet you at the railway station. By the way, it’s very hot here and we have a lot of sunshine, so don’t forget to wear you sunglasses.

我是一条无忧无虑、自由自在的海洋霸主一一鲨鱼。

我生活在一个五彩斑斓的世界里，各式各样的鱼类，奇形怪状的珊瑚数不胜数。

我在水中悠闲地游着，一会儿望望岩石，一会儿又看看成群结队的海豚。游着游着，我远远望见了一座巨大的珊瑚礁，珊瑚礁旁还有各式各样的鱼，大的、小的……我连忙躲在一块大岩石的后面，通过细缝，静观其变，生怕他们发现我，会飞奔而逃，让我的美餐计划泡汤。观察了一阵子后，我发现那些“呆瓜”还在慢悠悠地游着，丝毫没有注意到我。于是，我将目光转移到了一群又大又肥的鲜鱼身上，“嘿嘿嘿！赶紧享受你们最后的时光吧！毕竟，就凭你们，是逃不出我的手掌心的.。”他们还在傻呼呼地游着，完全没注意到，今天，就是他们的期。

“就是现在！”我游出岩石后面，张开盆大口，像利箭一样“飞”了过去，那群“呆瓜”完全没反应过来，就被我了个措手不及。其它的鱼见了，都逃的逃，躲的躲，原本非常热闹的珊瑚礁顿时成了中空地带。

饱餐了一顿后，我打了个饱嗝，又四处“散步”。散着散着，进入了一条海底大裂缝里，这条裂缝又深又黑，好在我嗅觉、视觉和听觉都还行，勉强可以看清一些东西，不会撞上岩石。游了大约15分钟，我又隐隐约约望见了一个山洞。

游了进去后，我发现里面又宽又深，大约可以容得下一只小鲸鱼。可当我游到出口时，不可思议的事情发生了，映入我的眼帘的是一艘巨型沉船，船头有一个精美的美人鱼木雕，船身十分华丽，船上长了一些青苔，看起来已经废弃了许久，一大群小鱼悠闲地游着，而我的目光都被那艘沉船吸引过去了，完全没有将小鱼们放在眼里，只可惜船舱的门太小，我的身体太大塞不进去，不然我一定会去里面探险，并把这儿当成我的秘密基地，还会把我收集到的一些好看精美的贝壳和珊瑚给藏在这里。

鲨鱼的生活可真是有趣。

How is everything going! Last time you said you are anxious now because you find it hard to learn English well. Don’t worry. I think you have to improve your English step by step. And I will right behind you. In my view, you should develop you interest on English first. According to my experience, I think watching English movie, listen to some wonderful English songs and talk in English on the Internet would be helpful. Secondly, you have to prepare lessons before class that will help you understand what the teacher says in the class. I know you feel bored in the class, but you have force yourself to be concentrated. A few days later you will feel it a little easy to learn English. The left steps I will tell next time. By the way, we have not seen each other since your family move to Hunan a year ago. Have you ever thought about going back to visit me and learn English together in the coming Summer vacation. Looking forward to your reply.

这个假期似乎过得特别快，一眨眼的功夫，就又要上学了。开学我既期待又不喜欢，期待是因为我想看那一张张熟悉的脸又有什么新的变化，不喜欢是因为不能睡懒觉了，而且得随时预防“火山爆发”。

2月27日，开学的日子到了，我这个“小大人”背起书包，却有一种怪怪的感觉：书包里明明装满了作业，为什么背着书包的感觉这么轻，这是以前从未有过的感觉。也许是我长大了吧，我这样说着，还是不放心的翻着书包，仔细检查有没有漏装的东西。

到了学校，老师以她惯有的.笑容迎接我们。在教室坐定之后，老师说：“下来我们选各小组组长。”自从开展271教学模式后，辅导同学学习和组内一切事物的担子就都落在了组长身上，所以组长的人选非常重要。大多数同学都不愿干这个出力不讨好的差事，都静静地坐。而我却勇敢地举起了手，因为我想要一个人——马超。和马超谈话，很有收获。他回答问题很积极，可以帮助我调动其他组员的情绪。有些同学见我举起了手，也相继举起了手，不巧的是，马超也举起了手，加上我刚好七个人，一人一个组。我着急了，我想要马超，可他却想当组长。

老师的一番话，让我心里的石头总算落了地。老师说：“谁如果不服，可以向他们当中的任何一个发起挑战!”结果，两位同学被挑战了下去，其中一位就是马超。老师倒计时了：“还有没有了，没有可就定下了。”这时，两位男同胞雄纠纠气昂昂地走向讲台，挑战的对象都是肖杰，这使我们男同胞十分兴奋和骄傲，但遗憾的是，两位男同胞还是不敌这位铁齿铜牙、细心能干地女中豪杰——肖杰，最后不得不灰溜溜地败下阵来。

接下来是组长选同学，分abc三类。挑选刚开始，平时的好朋友就都向我蜂拥而至，这下可好，要谁不要谁，我陷入了两难的境地当中，我想都留下，可又不允许。最后，我干脆横下一条心，只要留下马超就行。老师对我们组的同学说：“其他组要谁，谁就无条件地走。”说走就走了，刚开始人数最多的组现在只有三个人了，好在马超没走，我正暗自庆幸，他可是我千拉万拽才留住的。谁知半路里出个程咬金——肖杰那个组就要马超，老师偏偏就点头同意了。我顿时无语，原来那么多的精英，顷刻间就剩下我和叶子尧了，老师又给我加了一个人。就这样，我们组成了人数最少的组。

虽然我的愿望落空了，但我一定会带着我的组员在各方面争先创优，让弃我而去的朋友都吃后悔药去吧!
