第二天一早，渔夫便驾着小木船出海打鱼了。桑娜醒来后便拿出七块黑面包摆在餐桌上后，便到海边去抓海龟了。当桑娜带着两只海龟回到家里的时候，家里已经乱成一团了。自己先醒来的五个孩子对新来的在自家床上睡觉的两个浅黄头发的小家伙感到非常陌生，便跑到桑娜面前说：“妈妈，妈妈，这两个小孩是谁家的，怎么跑到我们家来睡觉呢?”“现在你们给我好好的听着，我们邻居西蒙阿姨昨天晚上了，她留下了这两个小孩。我和你们的爸爸收养了他们，你们以后不准欺负他们，要把他们看做是自己的亲生弟弟一样爱护他们两个，知道吗?”桑娜严肃的说。“知道了，妈妈。”五个孩子一起回答。然后，五个小孩便叫醒了两个还在床上睡觉的两个小家伙，一起吃早餐了。
晚上，渔夫回来了。可这次不同，在海上打鱼的渔夫碰巧遇上了沙丁鱼鱼群。结果可想而知，渔夫满载而归。所以，在今天晚上，这家渔夫的小屋里传出了孩子们和大人们的爽朗的笑声。可好景不长，第二天，这家渔夫的\'小屋却迎来了两位不同的客人，他们就是沙皇手下的督察官!他们奉沙皇的命令来审查这一带。他们刚刚还到这儿，就有一个贼眉鼠眼的人来到他们面前说：“总督大人，我是这一带的良民。我们这一带本来都很好，但前几天，这儿了个人，她的名字叫做西蒙，住在前面海面上的一艘破船上。前几天，她突然了。我们都感到十分疑惑，因为西蒙一向身体都很好，所以我们怀疑是她的邻居桑娜一家谋财害命!请大人明察。”两个督察官听了后，马上带着几个军人便不分青白的将桑娜一家全部投入了牢房。
几天后，由于伤寒病的流行，桑娜一家九口全部患病而亡!
