Beloved father:
It’s a long time no contacting with you since last e-mail. And I miss you so much. Recently I luckily turn to the third officer working on board MV Blue Whale,which is a container ship. I intend to introduce you what Ido on this big vessel in this letter.
I am the third officer working in the deck department. As you know, the third officer is responsible to the master for the proper performance of his assigned bridge watchstanding and navigational duties.
On board, my first daily work is wathckeeping from 8 to 12 and from 20 to 24. my second daily work is in charge of the maintance of the fire-fighting equipment and life-saving equipment. The third , I am also responsible for fire and boat drills, I have to design a muster list and make crew to know the best escape route clearly. Additionally, there are also some simple things I have to do in daily work. For example, I have to assist the Chief Officer in supervising cargo handling operation 、to measure the draft at the discretion of the Chief Officer or the Master、to assist the Master on the bridge with anchoring and mooring and unmooring operation is underway and so on.
In the end, I strongly believed that you must be very familiar with my special work through what I said. And I hope you can stand my back and make me stronger. We will have a reunion soon.

《父母课堂》告诉我：“父母好好学习，孩子天天向上。”她以循循善诱的语言告诉我们，作为父母要和孩子一起成长。字里行间洋溢着指路明灯似的爱。从那时起，我便爱上了她。
《父母课堂》告诉我：儿童心灵的启蒙是从家庭教育开始的，“父母是孩子的第一任老师”即是如此。在家庭中，母亲的角色是至关重要的，从孩子出生以后甚至于在母亲的身体里孕育开始，母亲就会在孩子的心中播下一粒粒语言的种子。当种子在孩子的心中扎根时，亲子之间建立起的.亲密关系是无法切断的。所以让语言，特别是带有感情的温暖的、生动的的语言，深植于孩子的心中，会促进孩子心智的健全发展，而不是机械的语言。
在和孩子一起成长的过程中有一件事给我印象最深刻。孩子放学后照例写作业拖拖拉拉，直到吃晚饭也没写完。由于之前正好读了《父母课堂》中“惩罚的第一原则——对成长有利”，饭后我强压怒火，用最平常的语调和他交谈，告诉他他已经长大了，有能力对自己做的事情负责，我不希望明天再看到今天这个结果。孩子非常痛快地承认了错误，从此以后改掉了做事拖拉的毛病。事后孩子告诉我，当时他已经有了心理准备迎接妈妈的暴风骤雨，但是由于我首先没有发火，使得孩子对自己的错误产生了深刻地反省，从而改掉了坏习惯。
直到现在我都非常庆幸，如果我当时发了火，如果没有《父母课堂》，我的孩子会不会是今天这样的优秀……
我把《父母课堂》当作我的社会大学，在教育孩子的道路上的指路明灯，她给所有的父母以启迪，烛照我们模糊的认识，使我受益匪浅。

Although we can only keep in touch with each other by the telephone or the Internet, I wish I could let you know how much I love you and how much I’ve appreciated the things you’ve done for me. It is never too much to say thank you to you, my dear parents.
First and the most important is that thank you for bringing me to this world. During the 20 years, you have done a lot for me, but I haven’t realized how much I love you until I left home to the university. I understand how much effort you have cost to bring me up. Now, I have grown up, I can look after you.

How is everything these days? I miss you very much.
I am very happy at my new shool. My teachers and shoolmates are very friendly to me .They ofen help me with my study.Now I am not worried about my English because I make a lot of progress in it anb I become more and more intrested in it. My shool life here is also wonderful. I take part in many part-time activities . I make many friends there and learn lots of learning methods.
Now final exam is coming. I am busy preparing it . I will try my best to do well in it.
