登革热是一种通过蚊子叮咬传播急性的传染病，由登革病毒引起的急性蚊媒传染病，在广州主要通过白纹伊蚊（俗称“花斑蚊”）叮咬传播。
发病较突然，有发热，头痛，眼眶痛，肌肉痛，关节痛；有皮疹并发痒，出（皮下出点或鼻出），发热1—2天内体温可达39—40摄氏度。若发现有类似症状，请尽快去医院就诊。严重的.患者可出现休克衰竭甚至亡。
广州主要流行季节为5—11月，高峰期为7—11月，各年龄组人群均可感染登革热病毒而发病。
