偏食、挑食是儿童保健门诊常见的饮食行为问题，也是婴幼儿喂养困难、营养素缺乏的主要原因，绝大多数患儿找不到器质性疾病，传统的开胃、补锌助消化治疗等药物治疗，效果往往不佳。在本组观察的70例患儿中，产生偏食、挑食的主要原因有以下几种：父母偏食、辅食添加不及时、食物单调、消极的进食经历。根据小儿的生长发育规律，婴儿的味觉发展有一敏感期，时间大约在生后2～7个月。
儿童对食物的接受类型是从其接受的食物刺激获得的。母亲的乳汁所具有的味道与母亲的进食有关，是婴儿潜在的各种化学物质感受的来源，因此，如果母亲偏食，乳汁中就缺乏相应食物的味道，婴儿在味觉敏感期失去对此食物味道的适应，影响了婴儿对此食物的接受偏爱性，常常导致婴儿期辅食添加困难，在幼儿期表现为偏食、挑食，厌食。小孩子吃什么或不吃什么，首先向最接近的人，主要是父母学习，如果父母偏食、挑食，往往影响到孩子，这在偏食挑食儿童中也占有较高的比例。辅食添加时间较晚，也是引起偏食的主要原因，如有的孩子1周岁依然只吃母乳或牛乳，在幼儿期拒绝或勉强接受其他食物，机制也同味觉敏感期缺乏相应味觉刺激有关。
在婴儿辅食添加、或幼儿喂养过程中，不变换食物品种或食物单调，使婴儿缺乏味觉刺激，特别是在婴儿期，会使儿童只习惯于常吃的几种食物，而不愿接受其他食物，也是婴儿产生食物偏爱的常见原因。小儿最初食用某种食物时，如果他最信赖的人对该食物作出负面评价，或父母强迫进食，都会影响孩子的进食兴趣，产生不愉快的情绪，降低了孩子对食物的.偏爱，甚至产生逆反心理，以致有的孩子一看到该食物就出现恶心、呕吐，拒绝食用。本组患儿中，均未查出明显的引起偏食、挑食的器质性疾病，按常规治疗效果显著低于行为治疗，也证实了引起偏食、挑食的原因主要是行为因素。由于长期的偏食、挑食，导致部分儿童机体内影响消化的营养素的缺乏，在行为治疗组中，未愈的6例患儿采用行为矫正同时补锌治疗，经1周的时间，就获得好转。同样，在常规治疗组中未愈的患儿改用行为治疗，在1周内亦获得改善。因此，笔者认为，那些无明显器质性病变的偏食、挑食患儿，以饮食行为矫正为主，药物治疗为辅，会取得较好的效果。

所以为了长高长结实，就得什么饭菜都吃，可不能挑食。 有些人特别喜欢吃零食，巧克力、薯片、冰激凌等，一天到晚不停嘴，其实这样很不好。因为我们吃的东西要靠胃肠分泌的消化液消化，然后才能变成供人体吸收各种营养。如果一天到晚不停地吃东西，胃肠就不停地分泌消化液，得不到休息。时间长了，胃肠的消化能力就会减退，引起消化不良和胃病等。
体力活动不但消耗热量，使身体没有多余的热量变成脂肪储存起来，而且提高了基础代谢率，使身体能消耗更多的热量。如果平时多做运动，即使饭量不减，也能使体重减轻。
