“协管员真累，交通警察更不好当。”这是志愿者王献的心里话。3月5日，作为绿丝带志愿者活动的一部分，市职院25名志愿者分成几个小组，在市中心城区车流量较大的路段协助交警及协管员指挥交通。身为文明出行使者的他们，用言语和手势，劝阻行人及电动车走人行道、斑马线、按信号灯行驶，从上午9时一直持续至下午5时……
“请您站在斑马线后面，绿灯亮时再过马路!”当日上午10时，在龙井路与沿河路交叉口，志愿者刘国胜向旁边的市民发放“凉都文明交通青年志愿者爱心卡”，并劝阻一些过马路的市民不要闯红灯。
“哦，不好意思，没有注意看灯!”一市民红着脸看着对面还亮着的红灯，连连往后退。“你们是学生吧?来体验生活?”
刘国胜说：“今天是我们市志愿者活动月启动的日子，来当志愿者就是为了创造和维护一个安全、和谐、文明的交通环境。”
“明白了，下次过马路，我一定会注意红绿灯的。”绿灯亮了，该市民热情地跟他道别。
在龙井路与人民路交叉口，“停停停，您越线了，请往后退!”作为该小队的临时队长，志愿者王献挥起小旗，制止了好几个不顾交通规则乱穿马路的市民，并向他们讲解交通知识。
一旁的志愿者刘强介绍，他经过学校的层层筛选，于去年10月份成为了一名志愿者。“王队长”给他们做岗前培训时，首先教他们行使自己的“路权”。
“当行人过马路不愿等红绿灯时，可以用提醒的方式进行劝阻，提醒多了，也会变成一种习惯。从不愿等，到经过提醒等，再到有意识自觉等，需要一个过程。”王献说。
志愿者们认真地提醒着过往行人，横穿马路、闯红灯等不文明现象明显减少。“要是每天都有人在这里引导就好了，相信只要坚持半年这样的陋习就会消失。”71岁的王国华说。
