丁香花，是我们哈尔滨市的市花。早在1988年，哈尔滨市就将它定为市花。丁香花花瓣有很多颜色，最常见的有深紫色，浅粉色和白色等。花型成十字型。花朵由四个到五个椭圆形花瓣组成，丁香花表面看不见花蕊，闻起来却有一股淡淡的幽香。丁香花香儿不艳，美而不骄，它不需要人们长时间照顾它。它每年四至五月开放，主要开放在东北地区。
丁香，无形中用它的'美渲染了整个城市。在哈尔滨，丁香花开的时候一般指一年中最好美好的时候春天。丁香花开放时总是一团团、一簇簇，争相怒放，象征着哈尔滨市民团结、热情好客的美好品德。
丁香花花茎成深褐色，它有很多茎，从粗到细，花茎的颜色从深到浅。叶子有嫩绿色和深绿色，叶纹清晰可见。丁香花的根深深的扎在土里，努力向土里延伸着它的根，吸取营养和水分，这不正是我们哈尔滨市民坚韧不屈的性格吗？远看丁香花像一个亭亭玉立的少女，近看像一个小伞，美丽无暇。
丁香花不仅有观赏价值，而且也有药用价值，晒干后的丁香花可以泡茶喝，喝到口里的丁香花茶有一股淡淡的清香，是人感到心旷神怡。
