i am afraid that you will think me unpardonably negligent in not having answered your letter dated 7, december sooner, but when i have told you the reason, i trust you will be convinced that the neglect was excusable. when your letter arrived, i was just in hong kong. as my family could not forward it to me during my absence, it has been, therefore, lying on my desk until the moment when i took it up. now the first thing i have to hasten to do is to write to you these few lines to express my deep regret.
i enjoyed many pleasant sights during my trip. i shall be pleased to give you an account to of them when i see you next.

暑假里，为了让我锻炼锻炼，妈妈帮我报了一个去北京的夏令营。
7月13日，妈妈把我送到了华侨旅行社，我背着行李，兴高采烈地坐上了去长沙的汽车。在车上，我们说说笑笑，不知不觉就到了长沙。在坐了21个小时的火车后，我终于到达了我日思夜想的北京。
老师对我们说：“我们先回宾馆放行李，再到外面集合。”我听老师的安排，找到了属于我的房间。放好行李，一看快到集合时间了，我以百米冲刺的速度跑到了集合处，我们的北京之行正式开始了。
在北京，我看到了包罗万象的自然博物馆，游览了恢宏的故宫，参观了神奇的科技展览馆，攀登了险峻雄伟的长城，参加了庄严地升旗仪式，还去了我梦中的圣地北京大学……最后我们到了风光迷人呢的北戴河。
经过四个多小时的车程，我们来到了北戴河。这里蓝天碧水，空气中弥漫着海水的腥味。我赤着脚走到沙滩上，沙子软软的，细细的真舒服啊。这时太阳把大海映红了，好像给大海披上了一层红纱。海面闪耀这一串串五彩缤纷的光圈。一个个海浪不断冲到沙滩上，像一座座小雪山。我欢快地走向海边，海浪打在我的.腿上，好像他*的手轻抚这我的双腿。玩了一会儿，我跑到沙滩上堆了一座小“城堡”。一个海浪打到我的“城堡”，我的“城堡”一下子就垮了，我不灰心，又堆了一座，但它也经不起海浪的袭击。我不懈气，一次又一次地堆城堡，一个比一个牢固。终于，我建成了一个大大“城堡”，它经受住了海浪的冲击，没垮。我顿时欢呼起来，“我终于成功了!”
时间过得飞快，一眨眼7天的夏令营生活结束了。在这几天中，我增长了见识，认识了新朋友，提高了生活自理能力，还明白了做事要有恒心，有毅力。真希望我明年还能参加这样的夏令营啊!

第一天，我们坐着大巴，参观了美丽、宏伟的浙江大学，著名的气象学家、地理学家、教育家竺可桢爷爷曾经是这个学校的校长。图书馆的门外有两座雕像，分别象征着攀升和团结。硕大的学校有一条幽静的林荫道，一座漂亮的花园，这些都为这所学校增添了不少情趣和诗意。
随后，我们来到了典雅的西溪湿地，这个美丽的湿地充满了美丽的景色，好似一个世外桃源陶冶着我们的性情。坐上了小船，我们不时在一座座小桥下穿越，两边也不时冒出来一些小野鸭，十分可爱。最有趣的便是那两岸不停跑着的小螃蟹，好像有什么急事似的，一刻也不停。
下了船，我的肚子突然打起了鼓。看时间，也已经将近中午了，导游便带我们进了一家土菜馆。上菜了，看着这些可口的菜肴，我不禁舔了舔舌头。“开饭!”随着导游一声令下，抓起筷子就狂吃了起来。吃完饭，我们到一座塔前举行了开营仪式，就开始了自由活动。
下午，我们去了湿地博物馆，了解到了湿地文化，便去了一家大饭店吃了一顿。晚饭也吃完了，我们才正式去了我们所要入住的酒店。在酒店那儿，导游主导了一场联欢晚会，大家都很开心。晚会结束了，我们每两个人分别入住了一个双人间。我和我们班上的一名同学一块住。9点熄灯，大家都睡的很香。
第二天，我们在酒店简单解决了早饭后，就去了杭州野生动物园。坐上了动物园独有的小火车，浏览了许许多多的小动物，实在是太好玩了!结束了浏览，吃完了午饭，大家就向着马戏团进发了。马戏团的动物们表现都很好，小丑丢玩偶的时候，我还抢到了一个。
动物园也逛完了，夏令营也就宣告结束了。这次的夏令营充满快乐，还交给我许多知识，真不错!
