Founder of Labor Day
More than 100 years after the first Labor Day observance， there is still some doubt as to who first proposed the holiday for workers.
Some records show that Peter J. McGuire， general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and a cofounder of the American Federation of Labor， was first in suggesting a day to honor those "who from rude nature have delved and carved all the grandeur we behold."
But Peter McGuire"s place in Labor Day history has not gone unchallenged. Many believe that Matthew Maguire， a machinist， not Peter McGuire， founded the holiday. Recent research seems to support the contention that Matthew Maguire， later the secretary of Local 344 of the International Association of Machinists in Paterson， N.J， proposed the holiday in 1882 while serving as secretary of the Central Labor Union in New York. What is clear is that the Central Labor Union adopted a Labor Day proposal and appointed a committee to plan a demonstration and picnic.

假如我能变成一位汽车设计师，我要设计一种环保香尾气汽车。这种车远看和一般的车没什么两样，走进才会发现这种车没有排气管，只在车尾有几个蜂巢状的小孔。人们不禁会问：那么尾气是怎样处理的呢？后部的几个孔又是干什么的\'呢？原来汽车尾气通过车内的一根管道排放到行李箱中的一个大箱子里。尾气进入大箱子中第一个小盒子时，盒子里会喷出消毒粉，消毒后的尾气经过一道滤纸墙后再进入第二个小盒子，这个小盒子里也会喷出消毒粉。二次消毒后的尾气又经过一道滤纸墙到达中药热气盒。这个盒子充满了中药粉末，四壁散发出一种煮中药时散发出的热气。经过三次消毒后的尾气经过最后的一道滤纸墙来到了香水盒，尾气在这里变成无毒无害的香气，然后穿过后部的小孔扩散到车外，一连串的消毒净化就完成了。
我想，如果大家开的都是这种环保车，天空将不再昏昏沉沉、黑云一片，而是碧空万里、万里无云，汽车尾气不再让人难以忍受，而是让人神清气爽。
