书中的故事发生在偏远的山区——玛曲县。玛曲县地处甘、青、川三省交界处， 平均海拔3800多米，县城海拔3400多米，条件很差， 交通条件也十分落后， 曾有人感慨地说： “在玛曲这样艰苦的环境，即使不做贡献，能留下来，就很了不起。”可是爱祖国、爱人民的王万青响应党的号召，来到了玛曲县做一名医生，也有一批爱国青年随他而来，但是随着时间的流逝，他们受不了严酷环境的折磨，有的通过考大学、读研究生离开了，有的通过各种关系调走了，有的索性早早病退回去了，只有王万青坚持留了下来，用顽强的意志力和爱国爱党爱人民的那颗火热的心，抵御可怕的环境，在玛曲县工作了40多年，并对医学做出了巨大的贡献。
王万青的故事令我很感动，我们就是祖国的花朵，就是共产主义接班人，就是中华人民共和国的希望!而王万青就是我们的榜样，我们要好好学习，将来学习王万青，做一个祖国的栋梁之材，真正的将爱国之志变为报国之行，让五星红旗永远飘在我们的头顶，让东方雄狮成为世界民族之林的强者!

革命先烈有：董存瑞、黄继光、孙中山、邱少云······我有他们那辉煌的足迹，感动的故事。
邓中夏是中国工人运动的著名领袖，他在红军中担任领导工作，领导工农武娤反对国民党反动派。1933年5月15日他被国民党政府逮捕。在狱中，邓中夏坚强不屈。有一次，敌人对邓中夏说：“你这样强硬，难道不想出去，不想获得自由吗?”邓中夏冷笑到：“我未进来前，倒想到有一天会进来，现在进来了，却从没想到会出去。”牺牲前的几天，邓中夏知道自己的生命有限了，他对难友们说：“一个人不怕短命，只怕的不是时候，不是地方。有重于泰山，有轻于鸿毛。为个人升官发财而活，那是苟且偷生地活，也可以叫虽生犹，真比鸿毛还轻。一个人能为了最多数民众利益，为了勤劳大众的利益而，这是虽犹生，比泰山还要重。人生只有一生一，要生得有意义，得有价值。1933年9月的一天早晨，敌人把邓中夏押出来，对他说：“这是你最后的悔过机会了，你还有话要说吗?”邓中夏斩钉截铁地说：“我一生未做过后悔的事。我也没有什么话要对你们说。”邓中夏在南京雨花台英勇就义。
革命先烈的故事还有很多，如：董存瑞舍身炸啁堡，黄继光舍身挡子弹，火烧邱少云······
没有革命先烈，就没有新中国;没有革命先烈就没有我们今天的好日子。是他们让我过上了今天这样幸福的生活，给我们创造了一片和平的环境，他们是祖国的优秀儿女，也是我们学习的楷模。
今天，在这里，让我们一起怀念革命先烈吧!我们现在这么好的生活都是烈士们用鲜换来的。同学们，我们生活这么好，有理由不学习吗?我们要再创辉煌，让祖国更兴旺发达。让革命先烈的身影和事迹作为时代的缩影在世间永远流传。

I surely disagree with father ’s philosophy. As a leader, he shouldn ’t use his power to make money. It is his duty to serve people wholeheartedly, just one person said “with great power comes great responsibility ”. If he stick to his philosophy. I believe that he will spend the rest of his life in prison. What’s worse, he could affect his son ’s philosophy, guiding him in the opposite direction , nothing can be done to reverse the trend itself. The only solution is to change father ’s philosophy. Because of many greedy officials in China, it is time to reverse the trend itself by establishing new policy. As Chinese always has been our confidence that we can change for the better and better.
In my opinion, there is more to to life than just money -it is happiness, nothing is important than happiness. We can live a colorful life in our spare time.
