On summer holiday my parents took me to Beijing. We stayed at Huabei Hotel. On the first day, we went to the Great Wall. The Great Wall is very long and old. It has millions of bricks. Each brick is very big and heavy. Lots of people from different countries like climbing the Great Wall. We felt very tired when we climbed to the top of the Great Wall.
We also went to the Palace Museum. The Palace Museum has 9999 palaces. It has a very long history. I bought a lot of souvenirs of the Palace Museum. What nice palaces these are! I visited the Palace Museum and felt excited. If you want to know more about the Palace Museum, you can go to Beijing and have a look. The following days, we went to the Summer Palace, Tian Tan, North Lake and Xiang Hill. I now know more about the history of China. I also like modern Beijing. The 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing.
Later, I went back with my parents by train. I really enjoyed the trip to Beijing. I like this trip!

几年前，爸爸妈妈曾承诺带我去北京，我一直记着这事，七月三十日，我梦寐以求的一天终于来了，我们一家三口登上了北去的列车，我激动的心情真是无法用笔墨来描述，也不能用语言来表达啊！火车经过十几个小时的长途跋涉，把我们带到了目的地北京西客站，随着人流，我们走出西站，啊！大街上车水马龙，一片繁华景象映入我的眼帘，我站在车站广场，环顾四周，回头看到了北京西客站的建筑，古色古香，雄伟气派，比长沙车站漂亮多了，心想，不愧是首都！一出站便先奔酒店，在去酒店的车上，我望着窗外宽阔的马路上，人流如织，车子虽多，但都在有序行进中，街道两旁，高楼林立…，在我还没有欣赏完这些美景，爸妈催我下车入住酒店。
稍作休整后，我们便从酒店出发，乘公交，转地铁，来到了天安门广场，首先是接受爱国主义教育，深切缅怀，来自全国各地的人们，头顶烈日，排着长长的队伍，瞻仰他老人家的遗容，感受他老人家的丰功伟绩。
纪念堂出来后，我们参观了人民英雄纪念碑、人民大会堂，历史博物馆、中华人民共和国国旗并一一摄影留念。看着国旗下站岗的`战士，虽然顶着炎炎烈日，衣服湿透了，他们却岿然不动，不禁使我想起了《谁是最可爱的人》。天安门广场真大，时值旅游旺季，游人挺多，但在这里并不显得拥挤。
接着，我们来到了天安门城楼前，走过金水桥，穿过天安门城楼，往西走不到两百米，远远看到午门两字，我心里一喜，这该是到故宫了。
故宫就是以前的紫禁城，位于北京的中心，是明、清两朝的皇宫，始建于明永乐四年（公元1406年），建成于永乐十八年（公元1420年），至今有近六百年的历史了，先后有24位皇帝在这里统治全国近五百年。一条中轴贯通着整个故宫，这条中轴又在北京城的中轴线上。三大殿、后三宫、御花园都位于这条中轴线上。在中轴宫殿两旁，还对称分布着许多殿宇，宏伟华丽尉为壮观。这些宫殿可分为外朝和内廷两大部分。外朝以太和、中和、保和三大殿为中心，文华、武英殿为两翼。内廷以乾清宫、交泰殿、坤宁宫为中心，东西六宫为两翼，布局严谨有序。故宫的四个城角都有精巧玲珑的角楼，建造精巧美观。宫城四面各开一门，南为午门，北为神武门，东为东华门，西为西华门。宫墙外有长3800米，宽52米的护城河环绕，真可谓固若金汤。从大明永乐朝到悲怆的逊帝溥仪，古老而壮丽的故宫，她诉说着一个历经沧桑的文明曾有的辉煌。寄托着无数中国人悠远的怀古思今之情。
在北京，我们还游了长城，颐和园、天坛、圆明园、香山、鸟巢、水立方、科技馆、欢乐谷等等。既有人文景观，也有自然景观，既有古代的历史文化，也有现代的科技文明。北京之行，让我受益匪浅，不虚此行。

我一走进午门，就被这宏伟壮观的宫殿震撼住了。气派的太和殿，坐落在七米高的台阶上，显得别具一格。当我走到太和殿的门前时，就看到了九根鎏金盘龙柱直撑天花板，可见当年的'太和殿是何等的富丽堂皇。还有那金光闪闪的屏风和盘龙宝座，旁边还有一些龟、鹤等代表长寿平安的动物，你不要以为这些动物只是为了装饰，它们是有用的，当皇帝上朝的时候，它们便喷射出烟雾使太和殿如仙境一般，我们可以想见当年皇帝的威严。我还曾经听说，故宫里的建筑、饰物大多和数字“九”有关。比如，故宫最著名的景观九龙壁，就是由九条龙来组成的，因为九是一位数中最大的数字，这表明皇帝是一个国家至高无上的人物。
我们还参观了奉先殿、养心殿、太极殿等许多华丽的宫殿，殿中众多精美的国宝使我们眼花缭乱，直到天色已晚，我和妈妈不得不依依不舍的离开了故宫。
