最爱漂亮是赶时尚的小黄鱼又打开了一本杂志，看起时尚杂志里的衣物来。
小黄鱼看了照片后吃了一惊，本周的时尚指数最高的衣物是补丁裤，一条裤子上补着两块大补丁，“哎呀！补丁是穷人穿的，怎么会成一种时尚呢？”小黄鱼不相信了，“别是弄错了吧？”小黄鱼又看了看另一页，上面有个明星穿着补丁裤，哇！真帅啊！小黄鱼陶醉得坐不住了，它立马去海底裁缝店定了一条补丁裤，并指名让名师珊瑚姑娘亲自做。过了几天它把补丁裤穿在了身上，真是又神气又帅。
过了几天，小黄鱼的`奶奶来看孙子，它一进门就问：“乖孙子，生活得好吗？钱够吗？”小黄鱼一边招待奶奶一边连连说：“有钱，我有钱。”这时电话响了，小黄鱼接了电话后出门了。黄鱼奶奶从乡下来，对小黄鱼家最近的变化很好奇，它东瞧瞧西望望，突然，它看到小黄鱼的床上有一条补丁裤，它急了，不相信地说：“这孩子，还说有钱有钱的，咋不给自己买一条新裤子，还穿补丁裤呢？哎……”
奶奶边说边掏钱了，这时，刚把钱放在床上的黄鱼奶奶又想到了一个好法子，它把补丁裤剪成一条条的，做成了一个拖把，它高兴得对自己说：“我挺聪明的，能想到废物利用，这拖把，真不错。”
小黄鱼下班回家，看到补丁裤成了“补丁拖把”，它差点晕倒，它生气得对奶奶说：“奶奶，这条补丁裤要300多元钱呢，你怎么不懂时尚啊？哎……”“这……这时尚是这样的？”奶奶真的不懂了。
